In vitro anti-aging activities of ginkgo biloba leaf extract and its chemical constituents

Abstract: To determine in vitro anti-aging activity and identify the active chemical constituents in Ginkgo leaf extracts. The antioxidant properties of Ginkgo biloba leaves extracts were evaluated using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical (DPPH) scavenging and 2,2'-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline)-6 sulfonic acid radical (ABTS) scavenging assays. The inhibitory effects of extracts and chemical constituents on reactive oxygen species, matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) and collagen tpye O level were tested using hum… Show more

“…Many of them have pharmacological activitiesanticancer, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory. , Because of their diversity and interesting properties, they have become important ingredients in food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. Their chemical synthesis is usually unprofitable or unsustainable, so efficient extraction from natural sources seems to be a very important direction in research and industrial development. Table presents a few examples of terpenes and terpenoids, with their activities and possible applications. , …”

“…The chromatographic analysis was conducted under the following conditions: mobile phase, water with 0.2% phosphoric acid (A) and acetonitrile (B); flow rate, 0.5 mL/min; column temperature, 30 °C; injection volume, 5.0 μL; and detection wavelength, 270 nm. The elution gradient was as follows: 85-75% (A) at 0-25 min, 75-70% (A) at 25-40 min, 70-50% (A) at 40-45 min, 50-40% (A) at 45-55 min, 40-30% (A) at 55-70 min, and 30-30% (A) at 70-75 min (Wang et al, 2020).…”
