Investigation of 1-Dodecylimidazolinm Modified Filter Papers as a Thin-Film Microextraction Phase for the Preconcentration of Bisphenol A from Plant Oil Samples

Abstract: Based on the tunability of ionic liquids (ILs) according to the specific requirement of an application, 1-dodecylimidazolium chloride with amphiphilic structures was chemically fabricated on the surface of filter papers (DIL-FPs) for the first time. After synthesis, DIL-FPs was characterized by scanning electronic microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. DIL-FPs was used as a novel thin-film microextraction (TFME) phase for the preconcentration of amphiphili… Show more

“…Using the mathematically derived equations above, it has been proven that TFME has improved sensitivity and extraction kinetics when compared to conventional SPME. For this reason, it has become a widely used tool for the trace and multi-residue analyses in food [3][4][5], environmental [6,7], clinical and bioanalytical [8][9][10][11][12] applications. Although TFME approaches have been in use for a considerable amount of time, there are still various new developments, with a particular focus on towards more specific, analytically challenging or practical needs.…”

“…For the purification methods of the effective components from plant samples, various techniques were reported, such as supercritical fluid extraction, hybrid molecularly imprinted polymers and modified filter paper. [21][22][23] On the other hand, the HSCCC technique is a very simple, useful and effective purification for natural plants. Thus, we used HSCCC for the purification of illudin S in Omphalotus japonicus.…”

“…The other attempts focused on the use of polydimethylsiloxane/divinylbenzene (PDMS/DVB) and PDMS/DVB‐carbon mesh supported membranes for TFME of pesticides from aqueous samples [7]. The other extracting phase, including MOF‐199 in polystyrene [8], 1‐dodecylimidazolium [9], ZnO nanorods modified with phenyl carbamate [10], polystyrene [11], diatomaceous earth [12], aptamer coated paper [13], magnetic polybutylene terephthalate [14], silica gel thin film [15], ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) doped polyamide [16], single‐wall carbon nanohorn suprastructures [17], cork [18], hierarchical zeolitic imidazolate framework‐67 [19], Co 3 O 4 nanorod arrays [20], and porous titania [21], were also synthesized and utilized as sorbent in TFME. Current research of TFME is focused on the investigation of new coatings.…”
