“…Looking over the long term, analysis of Labour Force surveys (LFS) shows that the primary reason for the social expansion of higher education between the cohort of the early 1920s and that of the second half of the 1970s is the increase in the length of education of girls and boys from agricultural backgrounds in relation to the rest of the population (Selz & Vallet, 2006). In the more recent second education boom (1990s), those with technology and vocational baccalaureates are the main victims of university selection (Blöss & Erlich, 2000).
