-010RbLi(NH 2 ) 2 , a Rubidium Amido Lithiate Investigated by X-Ray and Neutron Diffraction.-The title compound and the fully deuterated analogue are synthesized by the reaction of RbNH 2 /RbND 2 and Li metal in supercritical NH 3 /ND 3 (autoclave, 470 K, 220 MPa, 41 d). As revealed by single crystal XRD and powder neutron diffraction, RbLi(NH 2 ) 2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnma with Z = 4. The structure is an orthorhombically distorted variant of the ThCr 2 Si 2 type structure with an ordered half occupation by Li of the tetrahedral sites of puckered 4 4 nets of amide ions. The compound contains an unexpected hydrogen bonding system between crystallographic different amide ions.
