“…Such a linear temperature dependence of the shift has already been observed in the NMR of various alkali in fullerides 30,31,32 . Its origin is not well understood, but as it is not related to the electronic susceptibility 30 , it is probably of orbital origin and we will include this linear variation in the chemical shift σ.…”

“…In K 2RbC60 the larger Rb ions occupy the large octahedral sites whereas in Rb 2CsC60 the Rb ions are smaller and therefore pushed on the smaller tetrahedral sites. Site preferential order in ternary fullerene compounds of the same nominal stoichiometry was found earlier also by means of X-ray techniques [16,17] as well as NMR [9,12]. Considering the different prepara- tion methods described in [12,16], and in this work it is noticeable that the formation of site ordered fullerides is relatively insensitive to the route of sample preparation.…”

“…For all samples investigated here, the 87Rb NMR spectra generally show the typical characteristics found in other laboratories for samples of the same nominal composition [7][8][9][10][11][12][13], namely the T f line and the site preferential order in the ternary compounds. A more detailed analysis of our 87Rb NMR spectra reveals two special features: an additional broad line in all samples (Fig.…”
