One-Bath Pretreatment for Enhancing the Color Yield and Anti-Static Properties of Inkjet Printed Polyester Using Disperse Inks

Abstract: This paper presents a simple and economical method for preparing durable anti-static functionalized inkjet prints by using P[St-BA-F6]—novel antistatic agents synthesized by an oxidative polymerization of styrene, butyl acrylate, and allyl alcohol polyether F6. The P[St-BA-F6] was characterized by gel permeation chromatography and Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy. One bath pretreatment solution containing P[St-BA-F6] and pentaerythritol tetraacrylate (PETA) were applied to polyester fabrics before … Show more

“…They have numerous advantages concerning dye-based inks, for example, the simplicity of the process, lower production costs, better profitability, improved colour prediction, higher water, and light fastness. 12,13 Research and development pertaining the improvement of colour performance of pigment-based inks contained the conventional binders have been attempted by many researchers, including the application of various amino compounds, 14 chitosan 8,10,15,16 and its derivatives 8,14,17 ß-cyclodextrin and citric acid, 18,19 ink coagulants and acrylic resin for ink anchoring to the substrate. 20,21 However, the pretreatments components, just as the commercial textile binders which are incorporated in the ink formulations, might lead to the deposition of a high thickness of adsorbed layers with a higher increase in the total stiffness.…”

“…Research and development pertaining to the advancement of color performance of pigment-based inks containing the ordinary binders has been attempted by many researchers, including the application of various amino compounds (Phattanarudee, Chakvattanatham and Kiatkamjornwong, 2009), chitosan (Choi et al , 2005; Yuen et al , 2007; Nasar H. et al , 2011; Cao et al , 2019) and its derivatives, ß -cyclodextrin, citric acid (Chen et al , 2012; Zhao et al , 2017; Cao et al , 2019), ink coagulants and acrylic resin for ink anchoring to the substrate (Koo et al , 2006; Ugur Koseoglu, 2019). Be that as it may, the pre-treatment components, just as the commercial textile binders, which are incorporated in the ink formulations, might lead to deposition of a high thickness of adsorbed layers with higher increment within the total stiffness.…”
