Overview of E-learning Platforms for Teaching and Learning

Abstract: <p class="0abstract">Distance learning experiments have been launched since 2010 in several Moroccan universities as part of an experimental approach. It, therefore, seems to us that a strategy must be put in place to give this choice of education its place in training and grant it the means necessary to achieve these objectives. The objective of this paper has presented an overview, of free and proprietary e-learning platforms, their functional architectures, as well as the types of e-learning devices t… Show more

“…The theoretical and methodological basis of the study is an interdisciplinary approach that integrates the strategies of different fields of scientific knowledge: pedagogy, history, economics, creativeness, information technology and systems. When studying the culturological and educational phenomenon of the virtual museum, we were based on the theories of post-industrial and information societies [13], [14], [15]; theories of functioning of the Internet as an information channel and its social functions [16], [17], [18] and E-learning [19], [20], [21].…”

“…E-learning, the system name used for the learning process, is a moderately novel concept denoting learning through digital media. Elearning is a quick and effective method of disseminating and exchanging knowledge with students around the globe (Ouadoud et al, 2021). E-learning is "a system that uses internet technology to deliver information to students with interactions through computer interfaces" (Vitoria, 2018).…”

“…The available typologies of e-learning platforms [21], despite their accuracy and historical value, may seem to be undertaken in vain. The current trend in platform architecture is to offer all-in-one systems which are composed of both synchronous and asynchronous tools, teacher-assisted and self-access learning paths as well as to integrate own and third parties applications.…”
