ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the BEP of Maduranesse tobacco by using an activity-based costing method (ABC). The present research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach by using primary based on the expenditure of factors of production by farmers. The result pointed out the expenditure until harvest is equivalent to the cost from harvest to sold out, so by using ABC, production cost that is a baseline to determine BEP will be decreased by efficiency in cost, eliminating several activities, and timing to plant before dry seasons.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Harga BEP komoditas tembakau Madura berdasarkan activity based costing (ABC). Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif dengan menggunakan data primer berdasarkan pengorbanan faktor produksi yang dimiliki petani. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan biaya yang dikorbankan petani sampai siap panen bahwa biaya sampai panen dilakukan itu hampir sama dengan biaya mulai panen hingga pasca panen, sehingga dengan menggunaka ABC, biaya produksi yang menjadi dasar penentuan BEP bisa ditekan dengan melakukan efisiensi biaya, menghilangkan beberapa aktivitas, dan waktu penanaman pada saat menjelang musim kemarau.

Utilization organic fertilizers is one of the efforts from agricultural sector to preserve the environment. The application of organic fertilizer not only reduces the use of inorganic fertilizers but also reduces the accumulation of waste and increases the quality of crop yields at the right dose and type. This study utilizes waste substrate from straw mushroom growing media as a mixture plant medium for Tobacco. The fertilizer used is made from liquid coffee waste, cow urine, goat urine, and Kipahit plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the pH, NPK content, C-organic liquid organic fertilizer, determine the effect of the application of liquid organic fertilizer on the growth of Tobacco, and the content of dissolved protein, carbohydrates, and total chlorophyll in Tobacco. The results of laboratory analysis showed the pH value of liquid organic fertilizer meets the Minimum Technical requirements of Organic Fertilizer, Biological Fertilizer and Soil Improver, but the levels of NPK and C-organic do not meet the requirements. Application of liquid organic fertilizer showed a very significant effect on tobacco plant height. The nutrient content of N is strongly correlated with the soluble protein in tobacco plants.

Tobacco is the raw material for making cigarettes and has a large contribution in agricultural development, so many farmers who run tobacco farming but have not considered the profit or profitability at the farmer level.The purpose of the study to analyze the profitability of tobacco farming and the influence factor of land area, production and selling prices to ward the profitability of tobacco farming in Taruna Tani group. The reasearch was held form October until December of 2018 at Taruna Tani group Legoksari village, Tlogomulyo subdistrict of Temanggung regency. A survey method was applied as the research method and the sample was taken by census. Questionnaires and interviews were used to collect the data. The data analysis were using descriptiv, quantitativ, one sample t-test and multiple linear regression. This study shows the results that the average production costs in Taruna Tani group was Rp. 25,550,771.90/MT, the average revenue was Rp. 47,564,525.46/MT, the average income was Rp. 22,055,376.06/MT and the average profitability was 85,25%. It can be said that tobacco farming in the Taruna Tani group is profitable. The Land area, the production and the selling price have a simultane effect on profitability while partial production and selling prices have a significantly influence and land area doesn’t significantly influence the profitability of tobacco farming
