Profile of SGPT and SGOT on Male Rats (Rattus norvegicus) Hyperglycemic After Giving Insulin Leaf Extract (Tithonia diversifolia)

Abstract: The leaves of insulin (Tithonia diversifolia (Hemsl.) A. Gray) are native bush plants from Central America. This plant in Indonesia is often called paitan or kembang bulan. The aim of this research was to know the profile of SGPT and SGOT of male white rat (Rattus norvegicus L.) hyperglycemic after giving insulin leaf extract (Tithonia diversifolia (Hemsl.) A. Gray). This study used 20 male Wistar rats which were divided randomly into 5 groups of treatment. Those were P0 as a group of rats which was not given … Show more

“…In Figure 1 , a significant elevation of body weight was observed after administering T. arjuna extract in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. A similar result was observed after administering Aloe megalacantha Baker extract, Sigesbeckiaorientalis, Panicum maximum, Anacardium occidentale L, Ricinuscommunis, Chloroxylonswietenia, Perseaamericana, and Tithoniadiversifolia [ 44 , 45 , 46 , 47 , 48 , 49 ] but, T. arjuna extract was observed to show a better result than Calpurnia aurea leaves [ 50 ].…”

“…Hyperglycemia in rats is a condition of rat blood glucose of more than 126 mg/dL (Zubaidah et al, 2017). The animals were randomly divided into 5 treatment groups, there were T 0 (rat normal/control), T 1 (hyperglycemic rat without T. diversifolia leaf extract), T 2 (hyperglycemic rat administered with 10 mg/kg BW of Glibenclamide), T 3 (hyperglycemic rat administered with 150 mg/kg BW of T. diversifolia leaf extract), T 4 (hyperglycemic rat administered with 300 mg/kg BW of T. diversifolia leaf extract) (Yuneldi et al, 2018;Sari et al, 2018). Each treatment was repeated 4 times.…”
