Real-Time Transmission and Storage of Video, Audio, and Health Data in Emergency and Home Care Situations

Abstract: The increase in the availability of bandwidth for wireless links, network integration, and the computational power on fixed and mobile platforms at affordable costs allows nowadays for the handling of audio and video data, their quality making them suitable for medical application. These information streams can support both continuous monitoring and emergency situations. According to this scenario, the authors have developed and implemented the mobile communication system which is described in this paper. The … Show more

“…However, both the key or data adding and shifting are still unnecessarily too complicated, note that both are linear operation, S-box operations are non-linear, but need extra memory. Especially, when we try to encrypt or decrypt the huge amount of image data on a small handheld device [4]. As such, we have proposed a nonlinear diffusion dominated data centric encryption method to replace AES and DES algorithms, specifically for JPEG and MPEG encryption.…”

“…Application-driven communication systems and networks (such as road or emergency [1] applications) often have to deal with different contents (voice, audio, video, image, control signal, sensor signal etc), in different network layers. Different algorithms are required to handle the contents at each layer of the same layered network structure.…”
