Reframing and Wisdom within Proverbs

Abstract: Many proverbs seem to convey wisdom because they help people to reframe life's predicaments. Positive reframes, such as Every cloud has a silver lining, often draw positive implications from adverse circumstances (cf. "positive reappraisals," "gain frames").
