Scientific literature has indicated that men and women do not present significant differences in terms of happiness, both in general and at work. In observance of this evidence, the present study aims to verify evidence of criterion validity of the Happiness at Work Inventory (IFT), comparing the scores of 814 Brazilian adults, aged between 18 and 65 (M=38.1; SD=8.40), being 562 women. It was evident that both the total IFT score and the score of its three factors corroborate the trend in the literature, in which there are no significant differences between men and women regarding of happiness at work. The results indicate that happiness is a complex phenomenon, which cannot be explained exclusively by biological factors, such as sex, and the material contexts of existence and psychosocial relationships must be added, together with awareness and the recurrent practice of spirituality, while variables relevant to their assessment in the work.

Le processus de démocratisation a réduit le rôle de l’État. L’institutionnalisation de certains canaux de consultation et d’évaluation a suscité des réflexions sur l’efficacité de la participation populaire à la formulation d’améliorations, à la mise en œuvre de nouvelles politiques publiques et à l’innovation des services publics. La contribution démocratique peut se faire par l’entremise de conseils de gestion, de bureaux d’ombudsman, d’audiences publiques, entre autres. Ainsi, l’article vise à identifier les possibilités d’innovation dans le secteur public par la participation populaire. Pour le développement de ces travaux, la méthode de recherche exploratoire de nature qualitative a été utilisée. L’importance du thème est basée sur la nécessité de comprendre les ambivalences des processus sociaux et des attitudes des acteurs impliqués, tant dans les expériences qui innovent dans la gestion de la chose publique, ainsi que dans ceux qui maintiennent les pratiques traditionnellement développées inchangées. L’analyse met l’accent sur le potentiel d’innovation de la fonction publique par une participation populaire efficace, par le biais de rétroactions et de canaux institutionnalisés, visant à marquer la rupture de la façon actuelle de gérer. La participation sociale peut influencer l’expansion des espaces de participation, l’inclusion de nouvelles demandes, la prise de décisions et, par conséquent, fournir de l’innovation dans le secteur public. Malgré la nécessité d’études empiriques et de recherches pour corroborer la dynamique de l’innovation dans la fonction publique par la participation effective de l’utilisateur.
Este trabalho visa apresentar e demonstrar a importância da manutenção preventiva em sistemas de proteção contra incêndio por meio de um estudo de caso. Foi realizada uma vistoria em um sistema de proteção contra incêndio e elaborado um laudo com as oportunidades de melhoria identificadas. A manutenção preventiva é extremamente importante para garantir que o sistema funcione conforme o projeto, protegendo os ativos físicos e pessoas. A ausência de manutenção periódica pode ser catastrófica se os equipamentos falharem durante um evento real de incêndio. As recomendações e orientações apresentadas baseiam-se nas Normas Regulamentadoras e Resoluções Técnicas do Corpo de Bombeiros. Porém, no âmbito da legislação de Minas Gerais, observa-se que há uma lacuna vazia de regras ou regulamentação legal para medidas corretivas após as inspeções preventivas periódicas. Não há definição de prazos e responsáveis por implementar as ações corretivas, haja vista que ocorre obrigatoriamente somente nas renovações de Auto de Vistoria do Corpo de Bombeiros de Minas Gerais, a cada cinco anos, excluindo-se eventos temporários e construções provisórias. Assim, este trabalho sugere a criação e a inserção de um capítulo específico em uma Instrução Técnica do Corpo de Bombeiros Militar de Minas Gerais (CBMMG), que disponha propriamente sobre o tema de inspeção periódica em sistemas de proteção e combate a incêndio. Em um trabalho futuro, cabe analisar onde melhor vincular o texto na legislação vigente, sua viabilidade e impacto social.
