structure structure (solids and liquids) D 2000 50 -010 Synthesis and Crystal Structure of Cesium Nitratometalates(II), Cs 2 [M(NO 3 ) 4 ] (M: Mn, Co, Ni, Zn).-The title compounds (III) crystallize in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 4 for (IIIa, b, d) and Z = 2 for (IIIc). The structures are all built up by Cs + cations and [M(NO 3 ) 4 ] 2− anions and differ in the type of the metal coordination. The coordination numbers are 8 for Mn and Zn, 7 for Co, and 6 for Ni. The Ni atom in (IIIc) has a distorted octahedral NiO 6 environment formed by two bidentate and two unidentate NO 3 − groups.
