This study is done in an English course for kids in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The objectives of the study are to know the teacher's perspective on the challenges while teaching English for young learners and the challenges for the teacher in teaching English for young learners. This research uses the qualitative researcher so that the data will explain in detail. The data come from the teacher and the students by using direct observation and interview. The teachers have the challenges of teaching English for young learners. There is a teaching approach in the class, using monotone media, the different class sizes, the different characteristics of the students, the difficulties language skills. The most difficult is managing the class. The teacher should prepare the techniques to solve the challenge.

Bahasa Inggris, sebagai bahasa internasional, mendapat perhatian lebih dalam dunia pendidikan di Indonesia. Bahasa asing ini dijadikan mata pelajaran wajib di sekolah menengah pertama (SMP) dan sekolah menengah atas (SMA). Selain itu, bahasa ini dijadikan muatan lokal di sekolah dasar (SD). Bahkan, beberapa kelompok belajar (KB) atau taman kanak-kanak (TK) sudah mengajarkan bahasa Inggris untuk anak-anak. Pada usia dini, anak-anak akan dengan mudah memperoleh atau mempelajari sesuatu yang baru, lebih-lebih mempelajari bahasa. Hal ini sesuai dengan teori <em>second language acquisition</em>. Oleh karena itu, untuk mengurangi terjadinya eror pada pembelajaran bahasa di usia dini, khususnya terkait teknik dan strategi pengajaran, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan pengajaran bahasa Inggris usia dini pada guru-guru Bahasa Inggris di PAUD/TK/MI Desa Abar-Abir. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk dapat memberikan gambaran kepada guru-guru tentang pengajaran <em>English for the young learner</em>.

The quality of a nation is determined by its young generation character. A good system of education upholding character education may lead to this objective. However, creating character generation is not an easy work. It needs strong commitment, hard efforts, inclusive cooperation, consistent actions, sustainable policy and smart innovations. The writer sees school creed as potential initiative of a grand innovation to shape character students. Some authors in education and psychology has published a numerous articles about the strength of school creed to improve students' learning motivation. A number of countries, in developed countries particularly, has implemented it in their learning practices. Those facts inspire the writer to revisit, to deeply explore and to analyze the potential power of school creed to his educational setting in a developing country. This writing tries to elaborate on how a school creed to be created, and on how school creed can work optimally in Indonesia.
