The paper aims to examine the influence of a principal's managerial competence on teachers' job satisfaction and work commitment. The study belongs to a quantitative type with a cross-sectional design. The samples are 77 teachers from private junior high schools in Yogyakarta, all of which were selected using a random sampling technique. The data were collected through a questionnaire, which has been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using PLS-SEM as the samples used were less than a hundred numberwise. The hypothesis testing using PLS-SEM with path coefficient is accepted if the evaluation of the t-statistic is above 1.96 and p-value less than 0.05. The path coefficient revealed several results. First, work commitment significantly influences teachers' job satisfaction. Second, a principal's conceptual competency does not considerably affect the teachers' work commitment and job satisfaction. Third, the principal's interpersonal competency significantly influences teachers' work commitment and job satisfaction. Fourth, a principal's technical competency significantly affects teachers' work commitment and job satisfaction with respectively. Besides, the hypothesis tested simultaneously to the variables and was evaluated using R-square adjusted value path I resulted in 0.762, which means the conceptual competency, interpersonal competency, and technical competency simultaneously influence job satisfaction up to 76.2%, categorized as substantial (strong). Meanwhile, R-square adjusted path II is 0.363, which means that the three competencies simultaneously influence job satisfaction up to 36.3%, categorized as weak. The findings have important implications for those involved in developing teachers' professionalism in that improving a principal's interpersonal and technical competencies will have a positive influence on teachers' job satisfaction and work commitment.

The study of the effectiveness of madrasah has become the concern of Indonesia's education system to compete both nationally and internationally. This study belonged to a correlational research design to determine and measure the level of influence between variables, such as principals' managerial skills, supervision of learning, school culture, and teacher performance. This research was carried out at the Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (Islamic Senior High School) in Tulungagung, East Java, Indonesia. The research questionnaire was distributed to 213 teachers to dig out their perceptions on the principle's managerial skill, learning supervision, school culture, and teachers' performance. The distributed questionnaires were only responded and returned by 185 teachers. The data taken from 185 teachers were analyzed using the PLS SMART program. The result of the analysis revealed that the principals' managerial skills, the implementation of learning supervision, the formation of school culture, and teachers' performance affected the school's effectiveness. School effectiveness would be realized well if the school principals had good managerial skills to carry out the supervision of learning, create a strong school culture, and improve teacher performance effectively.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship (1) principals' managerial skills with organizational climate, (2) academic oversight skills with organizational climate, (3) principals managerial skills on teacher performance, (4) academic supervision skills on teacher performance , (5) organizational climate on teacher performance, (6) principals' managerial skills regarding teacher performance through organizational climate as an intervening variable, (7) academic supervision skills on teacher performance through organizational climate as an intervening variable. Meanwhile, this type of research is quantitative research with Ex-Post Facto design. This research was conducted with a total of 31 school respondents. The sampling technique used in this study was a questionnaire. Hypothesis testing is done by multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS 26 for windows. Based on the results of the study it was found that (1) there was a relationship between the principal's managerial skills to the organizational climate with a path coefficient of 0.327; (2) there is a relationship between academic supervision skills and organizational climate with a path coefficient of 0.624; (3) there is a relationship between the principal's managerial skills and teacher performance with a path coefficient of 0.457; (4) there is a relationship between academic supervision skills and teacher performance with a path coefficient of 0.277; (5) there is a relationship between organizational climate and teacher performance with a path coefficient of 0.272; (6) there is a relationship between the principal's managerial skills and teacher performance through the organizational climate as an intervening variable with an indirect path coefficient of 0.5459; (7) there is a relationship between academic supervision skills and teacher performance through organizational climate as an intervening variable with an indirect path coefficient of 0.4516.
