Public speaking skills are a competitive value, which is useful, and they will become an important aspect for teenagers facing the competitive world of work in the future. The additional skills are communication skills, confidence, and learning skills that can be useful for developing soft skills using the news anchor method through the SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta literacy class. These skills are given to students in literacy classes. This activity aims to train public speaking skills and recognize one's potential by identifying rhetorical skills and confidence in appearing in public. This article aims to find strategies for improving public speaking skills through the news Anchor method with direct field studies from the author in the literacy class at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. This writing uses qualitative descriptive research methods based on Aristotle's Rhetorical Theory. The results of this research are that the application of this learning media provides benefits for students in developing communication skills, courage to speak, techniques for conveying news well, as well as providing experience as a news anchor as a whole, both in terms of attitudes, knowledge and complete skills. This learning is good for developing students at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta and allowing them to face opportunities and challenges in a competitive era like today. Improving public speaking skills through the news anchor method, including the following aspects: body language, tone of voice, or aspects of vocal processing including articulation, intonation, tempo, pauses, visual cues, or using visual cues in this case through the visual medium of a camera supported by the aspect of will to achieve ability in terms of increasing public speaking capacity using the news anchor method, it is supported by the element of willingness to gain the ability to increase public speaking capacity using the news anchor method.

As the usage of ICT in teaching and learning, digital literacy becomes well-liked for Indonesian English department and non-English department students from Jakarta and Central Java. This research is to investigate both the students’ listening comprehension and their insight into educational videos for improving their listening skills. The objectives are: 1) finding out the students listening comprehension through watching VOA Learning English, 2) obtaining the students' perception of listening to English?, 3) exploring students' preferences to listen through video?, 4) investigating the listening media and topic the students like to listen to?, 5) probing the students' familiarity with VOA Learning English? This research was a comparative study including descriptive statistics. The questionnaire results revealed that the students from the two campuses shared similarities and differences in their preferences to increase their listening skills through video. The students of the English department and non-English department listening comprehension were categorized as fair since most of them reached scores between seventy and eighty. The majority of both English department and non-English department students like to listening English. However, they prefer watching a video in the form of a combination between monolog and dialog. They were enjoy the song for improving their listening skill. They also commit that the VOA video was interesting since it was designed to help them in developing their English skills daily. Likewise, such videos performed native speakers as role models which are favored by English department and non-English department students. Besides, they like to receive the questions after the video ends.

Zoom Cloud Meetings is a web-based learning platform that was utilized during the COVID-19 epidemic as a learning tool. The purpose of this study was to find out what students at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang felt about utilizing Zoom Cloud Meetings as a medium for learning and listening during the epidemic. A qualitative case study research technique was used in this study. The participants in this study were third-semester EFL students from UIN Raden Fatah Palembang's English education study program, with four students employing a deliberate sample using maximum variance sampling. The data was gathered using a semi-structured interview with open-ended questions. The theme analysis approach was used to analyze the data. The study's findings revealed the following benefits and drawbacks of using Zoom Cloud Meetings for listening skill development: (1) the influence of the first language on listening skills, (2) Zoom Cloud Meetings features, (3) internet connection, (4) security issues, (5) time limitation, (6) lack of vocabulary mastery, (7) homophone words, and (8) prior knowledge about the topics. As a result, the study's findings revealed the following benefits and drawbacks of using Zoom Cloud Meetings in learning to listen: the influence of the first language on listening skills, Zoom Cloud Meetings features, internet connection, security issues, time constraints, lack of vocabulary mastery, homophone words, and prior knowledge about the topics.
