Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that results in the height of children under five years old being inappropriate for their age or causing growth delay of children. Success in Interprofessional Collaboration Practice (IPC) in reducing the risk of stunting can be assessed from several indicators, including Framework WHO and IPEC. This review aimed to synthesize the existing evidence regarding the effectiveness of IPC in an effort to reduce the risk of stunting. The integrative review adapts Reporting Flowchart from Bulmer Smith et al., 2009. Pubmed, Proquest, and Grey literature were used as the databases and accessed through the Google Scholar search engine by filtering articles published from 2017-2022. There were 10 of the 1,019 articles screened by inclusion and exclusion criteria in this review. Critical Appraisal uses the tools of The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI). This review found that several indicators of IPC success in reducing stunting risk include roles or responsibilities, interpersonal communication, values and ethics, work culture, environment, institutional or agency support, and IPC results. All indicators have their interrelated roles, if collaboration practices are not carried out properly, the results obtained are less than optimal. The IPC method of reducing the risk of stunting focuses more on knowledge and health education promotions. IPC is expected to be one of the solutions that can be considered to help reduce the risk of stunting in toddlers and increase the attention of agencies/institutions with authority to provide ultimate support.

Background: Stunting, indicating chronic malnutrition in children, remains a pressing concern globally, especially in low- and middle-income countries. India, despite substantial efforts, continues to grapple with high rates of stunting, impacting child development and health outcomes. Understanding the multifaceted factors contributing to stunting is crucial for targeted interventions and policy formulation. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in Balipatana, Khordha district, Odisha, India among 400 children. A survey employing structured questionnaires and WHO Anthropometric guidelines for data collection was used. Statistical analyses including Chi-square tests and logistic regression models were used to uncover significant associations. Results: The study revealed a stunting prevalence of 28% among children under five, with 7% severe and 21% moderate stunting. Regression analysis revealed key risk factors included low birth weight (1.5–2.5 kg), parental illiteracy, lower household income (Rs. 1000–15000), inadequate toilet facilities, and specific drinking water sources. Conclusion: The findings align with global concerns about stunting, emphasizing the complex interplay of socioeconomic and environmental factors. Interventions targeting parental education, household economic status, and improving sanitation and drinking water facilities are imperative. By addressing these factors, focused efforts can be made to reduce childhood stunting, ensuring a healthier future for the nation’s children.

The health communication for the acceleration of stunting reduction in Garut regency

Background: The stunting prevalence rate is still a significant concern that must be resolved in Indonesia, especially in West Java. The latest data obtained from SSGI (2022) states that out of 27 districts/cities in West Java, four districts/cities have a high stunting prevalence (30%-39.9%) which are Garut Regency, Cianjur Regency, Bandung Regency, and Cirebon City. Garut is in the public spotlight because it has the highest stunting prevalence in West Java. Purpose: Therefore, referring to these data, researchers are interested in knowing the health communication polemic in responding to Garut Regency’s acceleration of reducing stunting prevalence. Method: The research approach used is qualitative research with a case study method. In Garut, stunting is a critical issue and is still being worked on. This study used in-depth interviews to collect data from five informants, participatory observation, and a literature study. Results: The results of the study showed exciting findings, including First, the existence of social, cultural, and economic factors as the cause of the health communication polemic in the acceleration of reducing Garut Regency’s stunting prevalence; Secondly, the health communication process has been conducted to accelerate a stunting reduction in Garut Regency; and thirdly, the need for health communication planning evaluation for accelerating stunting reduction so that even this has become a polemic until now. Conclusion: The health communication program planning evaluation carried out should be able to determine the next steps that must be taken so that this health communication polemic can be resolved immediately. Implications: The findings from this research have implications for the development of the next accelerated stunting reduction program, especially in Garut. The existence of an evaluation of the communication program is an important note that can be considered to realize the achievement of Indonesia Emas 2024.
