“…Thus, during the exercise, IL-6 plays an antiinflammatuar action by elevating, but after the exercise program, the same effect is likely to be obtained by decreased levels. Probiotics are able to develop the mucosal barrier by increasing the production of innate immune molecules and some strains stimulate the adaptive immune responses (Iannitti and Palmieri 2010). “…Moreover, Lactococcus, Streptococcus, Enterococcus, nonpathogenic strains of Escherichia coli, and certain bacilli and yeast strains such as Saccharomyces boulardii can also have probiotic activity; thus, they are considered probiotic-like microorganism (Howarth & Wang, 2013;Iannitti & Palmieri, 2010;Magalhães et al, 2011a). They are different from probiotics in that they are not found in the gastrointestinal tract of the host (Magalhães et al, 2011a).…”

Recent data, a dose of 5 billion cfu (5 × 10 9 cfu/day) at least 5 days has been recommended for therapeutical use of probiotic bacteria in clinical practice (Iannitti and Palmieri, 2010). The results showed considerable variability in both dietary groups regardless the age of probands (Fig.…”
