Validität und Reliabilität des FPI-R beim Einsatz im Strafvollzug

Abstract: Zusammenfassung. Show more

“…The abilities to describe oneself on cognitive, affective, and behavioral levels and to reflect on one’s own interests, attitudes, beliefs, and feelings are not as trivial as they may seem (Scheurer & Richter, 2005). Thus, completing a self-report inventory concerning personality traits requires fundamental introspective skills, including self-reflection, attention, and concentration as well as sufficient language skills (Back & Vazire, 2012; Hosser et al, 2008; Scheurer & Richter, 2005). As past research has indicated that executive functions and language skills in particular might be less pronounced in offender samples (S.…”

“…A nonreflective use of diagnostic inventories in diverging populations is subject to serious methodological concern because it remains unclear whether previously assumed psychometric properties can be transferred to these samples (Edens et al, 2018). For example, a study by Hosser et al (2008) showed that the factor structure of a widely used personality inventory could be only partially replicated in German inmates: Reliability subscales were lower than in the normative sample and not acceptable at all for two of the scales. Thus, a comprehensive investigation of the NARQ’s factor structure, reliability, and validity is necessary to gain scientifically sound knowledge of narcissism, its behavioral manifestations, and implications in forensic settings.…”
