The Outer Membrane Protein (OMP) of Vibrio alginolyticus cell wall was administered intramuscularly (IM) to the tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon Fab.) at 10, 20, 30 μg/kg bw. After 14 days infection, the tiger shrimps were challenged with 107 bacterial density of Vibrio harveyi for 24 hours. The total haemocyte count (THC), differential haemocyte count (DHC) and amount of total protein plasma (TPP), superoxide dismutase and protease enzyme activity were monitored. The results showed that intramuscular administration of OMP enhanced an immunomodulatory effect and protection against V. harveyi. The beneficial effect of OMP on the tiger shrimp is dose-dependent and OMP-20 μg/kg bw is an optimal dose after two times of boosters for 14 days against V. harveyi infection.
Pengukuran hematologis darah ikan dapat dijadikan sebagai indikator kesehatan ikan. Salah satu penyakit yang sering menyerang pada budidaya ikan lele sangkuriang (Clarias Gariepenus) adalah penyakit bercak merah atau penyakit MAS (Motile Aeromonas Septicemia) yang dapat menyebakan tingkatmortalitas tinggi. Penyakit ini disebabkan oleh bakteri Aeromonas hydrophila, yang termasuk bakteri gram negatif. Salah satu alternatif yang digunakan untuk mengatasi permasalahan serangan penyakit adalah dengan menggunakan bahan alami yang aman dan ramah lingkungan. Tumbuhan dapat dijadikan sebagai antibakteri dan imunostimulan, misalnya tumbuhan majapahit (Crescentia cujete L.) yang mempunyai kandungan kimia pada daun, batang dan daun. Kandungan bahan aktif tersebut adalah flavonoid, tanin, polifenol dan saponin. Penggunaan imunostimulan dalam budidaya perikanan dilaporkan dapat meningkatkan ketahanan tubuh terhadap resistensi patogen selama masa periode stress seperti saat griding, reproduksi, pengangkutan dan vaksinasi. Kadar hematokrit adalah salah satu parameter hematologis yang digunakan untuk mengetahui dampak infeksi dari A. Hydrophila. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh serbuk daun majapahit (Crescentia cujete L.) sebagai bahan imunostimulan pada benih ikan lele sangkuriang (Clarias gariepenus) yang terinfeksi oleh bakteri Aeromonas hydrophyla terhadap gambaran hematokritnya. Metode yang dipakai adalah menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 x ulangan serta analisa data menggunakan ANOVA. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dosis terbaik yang menunjukkan nilai hematokrit tertinggi adalah pada perlakuan A dengan dosis 7.5%.
AbstrakKerupuk cumi saat ini cukup banyak diminati masyarakat di semua kalangan karena kandungan gizi cumi yang tinggi terutama kandungan proteinnya yaitu 17,9 g/100 g cumi segar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mutu kerupuk cumi (Loligo sp.) yang terbaik dengan penambahankunyit(Curcuma domestica) yang berbeda. Analisis yang dilakukan meliputi: analisa proksimat (kadar : air, abu, lemak, protein, dan karbohidrat), dan uji Total Plate Count (TPC Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan empat perlakuanyaitu: tanpa pemberian ekstrak kunyit (O) , pemberian dosis 12,5% (A), 15% (B) dan 17,5% (C) masing-masing enam ulangan. Hasil analisa uji proksimat, penggunaan ekstrak kunyit pada pembuatan kerupuk cumi berpengaruh nyata terhadap mutu kerupuk cumi dengan pemakaian ekstrak kunyit terbaik yaitu: dosis kunyit 12,5% (kadar air : 9,622%), dosis kunyit 17,5% ( kadar lemak: 4,765%), dosis kunyit 17,5% (kadar protein : 18,112%), dosis kunyit 12,5% (kadar karbohidrat : 68,253%), dan dosis kunyit 12,5% (kadar abu: 1,278%). Penggunaan ekstrak kunyit berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap TPC pada kerupuk cumi, perlakuan yang paling baik adalah perlakuan C dengan nilai TPC sebesar 28.350 koloni/ gram. Penggunaan esktrak kunyit sebagai bahan anti bakteri pada proses pembuatan kerupuk cumi mampu menghambat aktivitas bakteri dan mempunyai kandungan gizi yang cukup tinggi. This study aims to determine the quality of the best squid crackers (Loligo sp.) by adding different turmeric (Curcuma domestica). The analysis carried out included: Proximate analysis (levels: water, ash, fat, protein, and carbohydrates), and Total Plate Count (TPC) tests. This study used an experimental method, completely randomized design (CRD), with 4 treatments without the administration of turmeric extract (O), dosing 12.5% (A), 15% (B) and 17.5% (C) respectively 6 repetitions. The results of the proximate test analysis, the use of turmeric extract on the making of squid crackers had a significant effect on the quality of squid crackers with the use of the best turmeric extract: 12.5% turmeric dose (moisture content: 9.622%), 17.5% turmeric dose ( fat content: 4.765%), turmeric dosage 17.5% (protein content: 18.112%), 12.5% turmeric dose (carbohydrate level: 68.253%), and 12.5% turmeric dose (ash content: 1.278%). The use of turmeric extract has a very significant effect on TPC on squid crackers, the best treatment is treatment C with a TPC value of 28,350 colonies / gram. The use of turmeric extract as an anti-bacterial ingredient in the process of making squid crackers is able to inhibit bacterial activity and has a fairly high nutrient content.
<p><strong><em>Abstract</em></strong></p><p>Carp is a freshwater fish, body shape is long and somewhat rounded with a small head, the high back and across large scaly body.The development of aquaculture carp (Cyprinus carpio) is progressing very rapidly with cultivation system are manifold. Pisciculture technology will not form without yielding seeds followed by genetic improvement effort. To improve the quality of the parent, the parent needs to be purified race carp (Cyprinus carpio) that exist so that the resulting pure strain. The success of seed carp, especially at this stage of the enlargement is determined by the quality of the seed. Breeding programs developed at this time is the method gynogenesis. Ginogenesis method is the process of female gamete without interference from male gamete gene.</p><p>The experimental design used in this study is completely randomized design (CRD) is equipped with 3 treatments and 3 replications. Analysis using analysis of variance, with the distribution table F or F test that compares the value of F arithmetic with F table.</p><p>Based on the analysis of research data on the influence of the length of time a different heat shock against the hatchability of eggs carp (Cyprinus carpio) method gynogenesis meiosis, based on the results of research, treatment A showed optimal results with an average 17.33, treatment B showed 12. 33 and C treatment showed 7.00.
