The child marriage rate is quite high above 40% during the 2019 period in Bogor Regency. This community service aims to educate school-age children to have an awareness that education is important for their future. Children should be given sufficient knowledge about the impact of child marriage which does not guarantee a better future for them. The impact of child marriage is the threat to reproductive health due to giving birth at a young age. The method of implementing the service is face-to-face, giving directions, counseling and simulations to school-age children who are vulnerable to child marriage and asking questions and exploring their opinions about child marriage and education so that it is expected that self-awareness will arise on the importance of education and delaying marriage at a young age. The results of this service activity show that school-age children are able to understand the material presented by the speaker and know that education is important for their future. This can be seen from the questions submitted by the participants and the presence of community leaders who support the importance of education. Penulisan riset pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir merupakan hal yang wajib untuk dilakukan. Dalam penulisan riset mahasiswa perlu mengetahui perbedaaan antara metode penelitian kuantitatif dan kualitatif berdasarkan tujuan penelitian yang akan dicapai. Metode penelitian kuantitatif dilakukan untuk menguji hipotesis yang sudah ditentukan oleh peneliti, sedangkan metode penelitian kualitatif dilakukan untuk melakukan generalisasi makna dari fenomena komunikasi. Penelitian dilakukan bukan karena ingin menghindari angka-angka statistik secara kuantitatif atau penulisan makna yang mendalam pada metode penelitian kualitatif. Webinar mengenai aplikasi riset komunikasi kuantitatif dan kualitatif bagi mahasiswa diadakan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman mahasiswa mengenai perbedaan penelitian kuantitatif dan kualitatif diselenggarakan pada 20 Mei 2022. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berlangsung dengan baik dan lancar diikuti 79 audiens melalui Zoom meeting dan live streaming YouTube TV KU dari Udinus. Saat webinar berlangsung terjadi proses diskusi dan tanya jawab peserta. Pada akhir webinar diharapkan peserta dapat mengetahui dan memahami pendekatan penelitian yang tepat sehingga dapat digunakan saat melakukan penelitian. Saran dari tim pengabdian agar acara webinar aplikasi riset komunikasi kuantitatif dan kualitatif pada jurusan ilmu komunikasi dapat diinformasikan secara luas.
Active smokers and passive smokers are at risk of being infected with COVID-19, causing acute breathing. Existing research results state that smoking habits worsen the health of COVID-19 sufferers so that it affects smoking habits in COVID-19 patients to reduce and even stop smoking (Sabrina & Ichsan, 2021). This study aims to determine how students smoker's perception of the transmission of COVID-19. This research is expected to be able to increase students' knowledge and sense of concern for their own health and the surrounding environment, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was conducted in Cibungbulang District, Bogor Regency. The research population is students from SMP, SMA and SMK. The sample in this study amounted to 147 students. This study was designed as a survey research using a questionnaire instrument. The design of this study used descriptive quantitative methods with the Pearson Chi-Square correlation test to determine the correlation between variables. The results showed that students' perceptions of COVID-19 transmission in smokers tended to be negative even though the level of student knowledge was categorized as high. This means that students know that COVID-19 can be transmitted to other people including smokers but they do not seek further information about it.
