Karena keluarga merupakan lembaga pendidikan pertama maka orang tua harus menjadi pendidik pertama bagi anak-anaknya. Dalam keluarga, secara alamiah, orang tua bertanggung jawab penuh atas anak-anaknya. Orang tua seyogyanya mendidik dan menumbuhkembangkan mereka sebaik mungkin. Kesalahan mendidik anak dalam keluarga bisa berakibat fatal. Anak bisa saja menyimpang dari fitrah dan potensi kebaikan insaniahnya ketika pendidikan dalam keluarga kurang berfungsi secara optimal. Agar pendidikan dalam keluarga berlangsung optimal, para orang tua hendaknya memahami bahwa institusi pendidikan formal dan non-formal yang diselenggarakan oleh pemerintah dan masyarakat, guru dan personil pendidikan lain merupakan penerus peran orang tua dalam menumbuhkembangkan anak-anaknya. Para orang tua juga hendaknya mengetahui berbagai pola pengasuhan. Ada tiga pola pengasuhan orang tua terhadap anak-anaknya, yaitu pola autoritarian, demokratik, dan permisif. Ketiga pola pengasuhan tersebut, dalam konteks pendidikan Islam, secara dialektis dianggap baik. Pola demokratis dianggap mengandung dan memelihara prinsip dan nilai universal agama Islam, yaitu pluralitas, kesamaan hak dan egaliter. Pola autoritarian bermanfaat dalam menanamkan keyakinan, mengajarkan tata cara peribadatan dan mencegah perilaku anak dari perbuatan keji, berbahaya dan munkar. Pola permisif dapat diterapkan pada anak yang menginjak usia remaja.
Some people see non-profit organizations (NPO) as unattractive and unprestigious, because they donot make a profit and only take care of people who are waiting for a helping hand. This view is exacerbated by the existence of a stigma that NPO is not accountable and transparent in public accountability, not professional in performance. This study intends to conduct a discourse counter by discussing the implementation of strategic management in NPOs as a "requirement" for becoming a social entity that helps address various societal problems. The method used is a literature review by collecting data through relevant literature. The data is analyzed, compared, and common ground is drawn to obtain a complete understanding. Fifteen articles related to NPOs were found. Nine of them examine financial management including accountability and transparency, three discuss strategic management and quality management, one examines public relations and publicity, one discusses community engagement, and the other presents a critique of strategic management at NPOs. The results of the study show that first, the NPO concept is an organization that does not seek profit, but instead helps solve community problems on the basis of volunteerism, partnership and humanity.Second, strategic management is very relevant to ONP. Practically, there are two strategic management models, namely the Fred R. David comprehensive model with a three-stage cycle and the Wheelen and Hunger model with a four-stage cycle. Third, two crucial challenges must be answered by NPOs, namely: 1) commitment and consistency in carrying out performance accountability and transparency, and 2) firmness and sustainability in participation in realizing social welfare.
The purpose of this research is to compare the quality assurance system in the Islamic State University at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) of Malang and The State University at Technical Institute of Surabaya (Institut Teknik Surabaya/ITS). The findings concerning quality assurance system cover; the reasons for implementing the quality assurance, the core value of quality planning, the quality assurance of implementation, the quality assurance of evaluation, the supporting factor of the implementation of quality assurance, the quality assurance strategy, and the result of quality assurance. This study uses exploratory mixed method research design with the developmental model instrument. While the process of this research starts with collecting qualitative data, then the extreme finding is followed by collecting quantitative data, and the end of this process is interpreting data together. From the qualitative data, it can be concluded that there is a difference between quality assurance in UIN Malang and ITS. The quality assurance in the institution management (X), the academic aspect (Y), and customers' satisfaction (Z) was significantly different (significantly) between UIN Malang and ITS. Customers' satisfaction at UIN Malang is influenced by the quality of management and academic with a larger proportion than in ITS.Keywords: Islamic State University, State University, Quality Assurance. The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe in depth the implementation of the strategy of Islamic educational institutions in increasing public interest which focuses on developing programs, budgets, and standard operating procedures at Islamic Middle School Sunan Gunung Jati Ngunut Tulungagung, East Java, Indonesia to increase public interest. This study uses a qualitative approach with a type of field research or field research. While collecting data using observation, interviews, data, and documentation. Data analysis using descriptive analysis method. The results of this study indicate that strategic implementation includes 1) program development including the fulfillment of graduate competencies, sustainable development of human resources for both educators and education staff, development of facilities and infrastructure, and priority in marketing programs. 2) Budget which includes budget management and planning in accordance with procedures, starting from budget preparation, foundation approval, analyzing budget sources (central BOS and committees) to the use of the budget for both goods and services. 3) SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) follows the rules set by the education office. In addition, the process of implementing SOP is influenced by Islamic boarding schools which lead to positive student morals. The results above show that the implementation of the strategy of Islamic education institutions in the form of program development, budgets, and standard operating procedures has had a positive impact in the realm of education at Sunan Gunung Jati Islamic Middle School in increasing public interest.
