RESUMOOs avanços na ciência e tecnologia mudaram consideravelmente a forma com que as pessoas vivem e se relacionam. Assim, se faz necessário incorporar na prática docente, metodologias que atendam esse novo perfil. O smartphone é uma tecnologia que agrega diversos recursos tecnológicos. Este trabalho desenvolveu uma sequência didática de ensino, utilizando o smartphone como uma ferramenta metodológica para o ensino da biologia. A pesquisa foi realizada com estudantes de 1º ano do Ensino Médio em uma escola pública na cidade de Sorriso, MT e investigou a eficiência dos recursos utilizados na sequência didática, analisando o desempenho dos alunos acerca do tema Ecologia, a qual os objetivos de ensino buscaram contribuir com a formação dos estudantes. Os testes de desempenho de aprendizagens foram avaliados estatisticamente utilizando o teste t-Student pareado (5% de significância). Os resultados se mostraram significativos e os ganhos na aprendizagem geral foram o dobro do valor inicial. Palavras-chave:Smartphone. TIC. Metodologia. Inovação. Ecologia. ABSTRACTAdvances in science and technology have changed considerably in the way people live and relate. Thus, it is necessary to incorporate in teaching practice, methods that meet this new profile. The smartphone is a technology that adds several technological resources. This work created a didactic teaching sequence, using the smartphone as a methodological tool for teaching biology. A research was carried out with students of the 1st year of High School in the public school in the city of Sorriso, MT and investigated the economic resources used in the didactic sequence, analyzing the performance of the students who study the theme Ecology, which are the teaching objectives to seek contribute to the training of students. The apprentices' performance tests were statistically evaluated using the paired t-Student test (5% significance). The results are displayed and the gains in general learning are double the initial value.
