This study aims to develop a practical rating rubric of speaking ability in the classroom setting. This research study involvesthe English speaking lecturers at a number of higher education institutions in Parepare, Indonesia. The product is designed based on Research and Development (R&D) approach, which is adopted from Gall, Gall, and Borg (2003). This Approach is implemented in six steps: problem identification, need analysis, designing product, revising product, field test, and implementation.The data is collected through interview for need analysis issue and product development. The other data collection is from tryout process that aims to evaluate the new product. Both of interviewed data and tried out data are analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. This research study finds a new design and scoring mechanism ofanalytical rubric of speaking test. This rubric calls Practical Rating Rubric of Speaking Test (P2RST). It enables the rater to perform scoring mechanism more shortly than the existing analytical rubric. It is also supported by some components such as a) evaluation criteria of communicative competences;
Language and gender are always being exciting topics to be discussed because gender is not only about the difference between men and women based on sex, but this is about the roles and status that determine the position between men and women (Maciuszek et al., 2019). This research aims to find out some language varieties used by Emma Watson on her conversation in International women's day 2015 in HeForShe video YouTube. This research is descriptive qualitative, and to obtain the data, the researcher took the video about the conversation of Emma Watson in International women's day 2015 on YouTube channel then analyzed some language varieties. The result of this research found that there were four types of varieties of communication utilized by Emma to present her goals in the conversation. These varieties include rising intonation, intensifier, super polite form, and avoidance of strong swear words. The majority of the language variety is frequently used by Emma to show her feeling about her seriousness, her emotion, her empathy, and to firm her statement, especially about gender equality. The majority of Emma's utterances based on women's language varieties are used to show her emotion as well as her seriousness.
This research sheds some light on collaborative learning to increase the agribusiness students' reading ability at the Muhammadiyah University of Parepare. It tries to find answers to two questions. First, to what extent does the collaborative learning strategy improve the students reading comprehension in the ESP course at UMPAR? Second, what are the students' perceptions of collaborative learning strategies in teaching reading comprehension at UMPAR? To answer these questions, the researcher adopted a Quasi-Experimental design by using the experimental and control group. The data were collected through a reading test and a questionnaire. The research findings indicated that using a collaborative learning strategy improved the students' reading comprehension at agribusiness students at UMPAR. The t-test result of the Pre-test was -1.25 and 2.50 in the Post-test. The Post-test result was more significant than the t-table (2.50>2.023). It indicated that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. The results of the study also revealed that a collaborative learning strategy improves the students' ability in teaching Reading Comprehension.

The objective of the research was to find out whether there was any significant difference between the students who were taught through Read, Cover, Remember, Retell strategy (RCRR) and the students who were taught through Conventional Way (Collaborative Learning). This research used Quasi-Experimental Method. The population of this research was the nineth year students of SMP Negeri 2 Parepare. Total number of population was 256 students and two classes of them were taken as sample by using cluster random sampling. One class was as experimental group (IX.5) and one class was as control group (IX.7). The numbers of each class were 32 students. The instruments used were reading comprehension test. The result of this research concludes that there was any significant difference between the students between the students who were taught reading through RCRR strategy and the students who were taught reading through Conventional Way (Collaborative Learning). It is proved by the mean score of the students’ posttest in Experimental group was 85.46, while in Control group, the mean score of students’ posttest was 80.15. The result of the t-test value (3.123) was greater than t-table value (2.000). This indicated that H0 was rejected, and Hawas accepted.
