Multiple intelligence (MI) theory has attracted much attention in the field of education, although Howard Gardner as the inventor of this theory, does not intend to create it to apply learning and instruction. The theory was directed at the philosophy of developmental and cognitive psychology (Gardner, 2011) as a discipline he was interested in since the beginning of his career. Eventually, MI theory became popular in educational practice. The typical studies, which connect MI and education, are becoming multiple intelligences in school (Hoerr, 2004), multiple intelligences in the elementary school (Baum, Viens, & Slatin, 2005), and multiple intelligences in the classroom (Armstrong, 2009). Later on, this study has evolved into a more specific discipline such as multiple intelligences and leadership (Riggio, Murphy, & Pirozzolo, 2001), and the multiple intelligences in the reading and writing (Armstrong, 2003). In the field of learning and instruction, MI theory has grown so popular, such as teaching and learning through multiple intelligences (Campbell, Campbell, & Dickinson, 1996) and multiple intelligences-based instructions (Yaumi, 2013). Here, multiple intelligences-based instructions is a learner-centered learning strategy, which focuses on identifying learners' intelligence, talent, and learning preferences and providing the best way for learning. MI is the ability or talent possessed by a person (learner) that includes verballinguistic, logical-mathematical, visual-spatial, musicalrhythmic, physical-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, 809216S GOXXX10.
The purpose of this study is to find out the importance of Mendeley reference management software for the accuracy of citation writing and reference lists. This research method is qualitative, using a case study approach. This study asks students to write a brief impression about the importance of using citation manager software such as Mendeley in including citations and simultaneously compiling a bibliography. This research was conducted after students were trained using Mendeley. The subjects of this study were thirty-five students from a private college in the suburb of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Some impressions that appear in this research are citation accuracy, the accuracy of bibliography, synchronization of citations with bibliography, easy synchronization with Digital Object Identifier (DOI) features, and metadata or bibliographic data. Researchers grouped the impressions of students using FreeMind-MindMap software. This research can be concluded that Mendeley reference management software has citation writing accuracy and a significant reference list helps students write papers and or theses.
Hybrid e-learning brings traditional learning together digital learning to accommodate the current development technology era as Industrial Revolution 4.0. The study aims to explore the perceptions, strategies, and challenges of lecturers in using hybrid e-learning in their teaching. This case study employs both quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative data were used on-line questionnaire, and the qualitative data are gained via interviews. The quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS descriptive statistics, and the qualitative data were analyzed through interactive thematic data analysis. The findings reveal that there are several categories of the usefulness of hybrid, the institutional support, the impact of hybrid e-learning on subject mastery, and the percentage use of hybrid e-learning. Also, lecturers encounter mostly practical challenges in using hybrid e-learning. The study implies that lecturers may adopt the strategies of applying hybrid e-learning used by lecturers for a similar setting in different contexts. The study recommends that the more familiar the lecturers with the updated technology, the better the use of technology in their teaching. More importantly, the use of hybrid e-learning should be in the form of formal policy of the university so that it will be used ubiquity in many academic activities and settings. Higher education institutions should be able to change learning models that are by the needs of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era
Mendeley is one of the references managers that provide web, desktop, and mobile version. This research aims at exploring the Indonesian Mendely users' preference on Mendeley use as multimedia-based application in academic writing. The researchers conducted survey research design to find data for deciding the obvious groups' characteristics on certain topic or issue in a diverse group. Data on this research was taken in 2015 to explore 100 Indonesian Mendeley users' preference on Mendeley features as web based application in academic writing. The researchers used weighted average find out rate and percentage adjusment for the influence of a binary confounder. The weighted average in this research was automatically generated by SurveyMonkey analytic. This research indicated what Mendeley features as multimedia web application for academic writing that Indonesian Mendeley users took in and out.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
