Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative disease that attacks synovial joints which results in decreased knee function and reduced quality of life for the elderly. The purpose of this study was to determine the combination of infrared intervention, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation and muscle energy technique related to physiotherapy frequency visits. The design of this study was a randomized pretest-post-test control group conducted at the hospital. dr. Soepraoen Kesdam V/Brawijaya Malang in January-May 2022 with a population of 38 people using a random sample that meets the exclusion and inclusion criteria. So that 30 respondents were obtained which were divided into 2 groups. Group A physiotherapy intervention with a frequency of 2x a week and physiotherapy intervention group with a frequency of 3x a week. Hypothesis testing using Mann-Whitney in group A pre-post as much as 5.00-4.00 with a median difference of 1.00; and group B pre-post as much as 5.00-4.00 with a median difference of 2.00 the results of the p value showed 0.00 <0.05, so there was a significant difference in the provision of interventions with a frequency of visits 2 times and 3 times a week. The median difference between groups was clinically significant between the 2 times a week frequency group and the 3 times a week group. Knee osteoarthritis is a disorder of the knee joint that is progressive, for example in the joint cartilage, synovial fluid and subchondral bone, and causes furs, ulcerations, and becomes thin. The main complaints that are often felt by sufferers of Knee Osteoarthritis are pain, limited range of joint motion, mechanical abnormalities, and limitations in carrying out daily functional activities. Complaints felt by sufferers of Knee Osteoarthritis can cause a decrease in the quality of life in the elderly. This study aims to identify the effect of quadriceps isometric exercise on changes in pain in osteoarthritis patients. This research has 21 respondents. The research design uses a pre-experimental type with a one group pretest and posttest approach. Bivariate analysis in this study used Wilcoxon. The results of this study were that the mean pain scale before quadriceps isometric exercise was 5.761, the mean pain scale after quadriceps isometric exercise in knee osteoarthritis patients was 2.857, and there was an effect of isometric quadriceps exercise on reducing pain in osteoarthritis patients at Wijaya Kusuma Hospital Lumajang with a p-value = 0.000 (p<0.05). It is hoped that this research can provide additional information based on data and theory to improve the quality of physiotherapy services by establishing a standard procedure for performing the quadriceps isometric exercise, especially in osteoarthritis patients.
Salah satu kondisi kronis yang sering dialami oleh karyawan adalah nyeri punggung bawah (NPB) yang dipicu akibat tuntutan pekerjaan fisik maupun posisi postur statis pada karyawan kantoran. Beban kerja dengan rata-rata duduk statis di depan komputer sekitar 40 jam/minggu diasumsikan dapat meyebabkan penurunan fleksibilitas otot lumbal yang diduga berkontribusi besar dengan NPB. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai korelasi fleksibilitas lumbal dengan keluhan NPB pada karyawan Institut Teknologi Sains dan Kesehatan (ITSK) RS. dr. Soepraoen Kesdam V/ Brawijaya. Penelitian ini merupakan sebuah studi observasional dengan desain cross sectional pada populasi 50 karyawan tenaga pendidik dengan kriteria umur 25-35 tahun, memiliki berat badan normal, berjenis kelamin perempuan maupun laki-laki dan bekerja duduk depan komputer selama 8 jam. Adapun tendik yang memiliki riwayat HNP, dan ankilosing spondylitis tidak diikutkan pada penelitian ini, maka diperoleh sampel berjumlah 30 responden. Data dikumpulkan dan dianalisis menggunakan SPSS metode Gamma dan Somers’d. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,382 menunjukkan korelasi datanya lemah. Maka, nilai signifikansinya menunjukkan 0,171>0,05 dengan kesimpulan studi ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat korelasi yang bermakna antara fleksibiltas otot lumbal dan keluhan nyeri punggung bawah pada karyawan.
Fleksibilitas otot hamstring adalah salah satu aspek yang penting pada pemain sepak bola terutama pada gerakan menendang. Akibat kurangnya fleksibilitas hamstring dapat menyebabkan terjadinya cedera. Contract relax stretching merupakan salah satu manajemen Fisioterapi dalam upaya pengembangan, memelihara dan memulihkan gerak pada atlet. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui efektivitas contract relax stretching pada pemain sepak bola usia 12-14 tahun. Populasi studi ini sebanyak 50 orang dengan metode purposive sampling diperoleh 30 sampel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi. Studi ini menggunakan alat ukur sit and reach test. Dengan desain penelitian quasi eksperimen dan metode pre-post satu kelompok. Dosis contract relax stretching sebanyak 3 kali seminggu selama sebulan dengan dosis empat kali repetisi, pemberian stretching selama 10 detik, 3 set dan jeda istirahat 5 detik. Uji hipotesis Wilcoxon diperoleh nilai median pre 4.00 dan post 5.00 dengan selisih nilai 1.00. Sehingga, nilai P sebanyak 0.00 <0.05. Maka ditarik kesimpulan pada pemberian contract relax stretching pemain sepak bola usia 12-14 tahun secara signifikan mengalami peningkatan fleksibilitas hamstring.
