This study aimed to find out the discrimination in feminine men in Sawah Lebar, Bengkulu. Discrimination occured because people only recognize two sexes, the female and male. In society, gender differences had not only biological implications, but also social and psychological because people have different expectations on the attitude, behavior, and appearance between women and men.This research used a qualitative descriptive approach. Informants were taken by using purposive sampling method. Data were collected by using interview, observation and documentation techniques. The results showed a picture of discrimination as evidenced by marginalization, subordination, stereotyping, violence, and double burden among the feminine men in society. The tradition among all is a Javanese tradition carried out to commemorate the birthday of someone in the Javanese calendar. One of the Javanese who still carries out the traditions among the Javanese is in Magelang Village, Kerkap District, North Bengkulu Regency. This study aims to examine the value of harmony and family values of ethnic Javanese in the tradition of among those in the village of Magelang. The method of this research is qualitative research using Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis. Determination of informants in this study was purposive sampling and data collection using observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that Charcoal (symbolizing the furnace in the kitchen), money (all human needs purchased with money), rice (indicating cooked food), banana leaves (as a base for eating), red porridge (symbolizing maternal blood), porridge white (symbolizing father's sperm cells), fern leaves (as traditional medicine), dadap leaves (as traditional medicine when children are sick), eggs (as the center in ngepong emong), and urap (symbolizing ancient simplicity), while developing myths about the tradition of among the people is that this tradition is carried out to ask for the safety of the child to avoid being disturbed by supernatural beings. The value of harmony and family values of Javanese ethnic in Magelang Village are maintained and intertwined with the implementation of these traditions. The community still adheres to the philosophy "manganese manganese is important to collect" to become their foundation in maintaining harmony and kinship between them.
TVRI Bengkulu Public Broadcasting Institution (LPP) which is supposed to be responsible for the welfare of its workers, especially freelancers, is more concerned with the workload of its workers because a person's workload must be appropriate and balanced against the physical and psychological abilities of workers. This study aims to determine the commoditization of workers carried out on TVRI Bengkulu television station. This research method uses qualitative research methods which are presented descriptively. Informants in this study used purposive sampling, namely Kasubsi TVRI Bengkulu Program, Journalists, News Administration, News Broadcasters, and employees who had worked at TVRI Bengkulu from various fields such as Journalists, Production Engineering, and Program Staff. Methods of collecting data using observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use the method of constant cooperative technique. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that the occurrence of Commoditization of Workers in the TVRI Bengkulu Public Broadcasting Institution is true, this is indicated by the existence of work inequality ranging from additional work to the salary system obtained. When referring to the theory put forward by Vincent Mosco the media make optimal use of energy and mind by forcing them to do more than one job as a form of employee loyalty to the media industry.
Maskulinitas merupakan sebuah produk budaya yang dikonstruksikan dan diwariskan dari generasi ke generasi dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. Sistem dan struktur sosial yang melekat pada konsep maskulinitas dilatarbelakangi oleh ideologi patriarki dan kapitalisme menimbulkan fenomena toxic masculinity dan menempatkan laki-laki pada posisi atas dan superior. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengungkap dan mendapatkan representasi toxic masculinity dari sebuah film. Representasi toxic masculinity telah disosialisasikan, dikontruksikan, dan diperkuat oleh sebuah film. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisa semiotika Roland Barthes dengan menggunakan paradikma kritis dengan pendekatan teori maskulinitas, konsep toxic masculinity, dan film sebagai realitas sosial guna mendapatkan representasi dari konsep toxic masculinity. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa laki-laki ditampilkan sesuai dengan konstruksi sosial menurut sistem patriarki, yang mana konstruksi laki-laki adalah sosok yang bersikap tidak boleh menunjukkan emosi, laki-laki menunjukkan kemarahan. Selain sistem patriarki, ideologi kapitalisme merupakan ideologi lain yang mempengaruhi penggambaran dari laki-laki maskulin.
This research aims to seekthe performance of women leaders in the Regional House of Representativesof Bengkulu City in communicating politics and representing themselves as leaders in a "masculine" world that is considered cruel to women. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected by using in-depth interview and observation to three women leaders.Based on the results, it could be concluded that the female parliamentary leaders conducting political communication feminine style leadership such as engaging and directing parliamentarians they led in carrying out their duties. However, when it’s needed, they remain firm, but not arrogant.
