The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of discipline and physical fitness on the performance of physical education teachers. This study uses the path analysis method. This research to find the direct effect between variables discipline and physical fitness on the work of physical education teachers. The sample used 102 certified physical education teachers in the province of Southeast Sulawesi. Discipline and performance are measured using questionnaires that have been validated by experts. Physical fitness is measured by using five items of fitness tests namely body lift test for men and elbow bend for girls, sit-ups, push-ups running back and forth and also endurance that is running with a distance of 2.4 km. Data analysis technique used path analysis. The finding of the variable such as, 1) discipline variable (X 2) has a direct positive effect on teacher performance (Y), amounting to (R2 = 0.160). 2) physical fitness variable (X 3) has a direct positive effect on teacher performance (Y), amounting to (R2 = 0.376), 3) discipline variable (X 2) has a direct positive effect on physical fitness (X 3), amounting to (R2 = 0.889). Based on the two independent variables that gave the 124 greatest contribution to improving the performance of physical education teachers was physical fitness (R2 = 0.376). In this case a teacher who has good physical fitness will also have good performance.
THE EFFECTIVENESS OF COOPERATIVE INTEGRATED READING AND COMPOSITION (CIRC) LEARNING MODELS ON EXPOSITION WRITING ABILITY NEWS ON STUDENTS OF CLASS V SDI NO 21 BARRU DISTRICT SALOMONIThis study aims to examine the effectiveness of cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) learning model on the ability to write news expositions in grade V students of SDI No. 21 Salomoni Barru Regency. The type of research used in this research is experimental research. The research design used, namely quasi experiment form Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. This research was conducted in SDI No. 21 Salomoni Barru Regency. The population, namely the entire Va. and VB students of 42 students. Sampling techniques, namely saturated sampling. The instrument used in this research is the task of writing simple sentences with data collection techniques, namely the assignment. The collected data is then analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results showed that the ability to write news exposition using Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning in grade V students of SDI No. 21 Salomoni Barru District showed that students' understanding of writing news exposition texts showed an increase in the 9 students whose initial pretest implementation was still in the good category. While the ability to write news exposition without using Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning in grade V students of SDI No. 21 Salomoni Barru District from 22 students who participated in pretest before learning there were 12 students (54.5%) who have the ability to write news exposition texts that are in a very good categor. Furthermore, as many as 10 students (45.5%) who have the ability to write news exposition texts that are in a good categor. The results showed that in the implementation of pretest students the ability of students in writing news exposition texts is classified as effective. While in the posttest implementation after the implementation of CIRC learning obtained that the grades obtained by students are in the category of very effective. Thus, the implementation of learning using CIRC learning based on posttest results is declared effective.
This research aims to explore how teachers implement multicultural-based English language teaching in a language institution and students' views of teachers' implementation of multicultural-based English language teaching. This research is qualitative with a case study design. In collecting the data, the researcher used direct observation by observing teaching and learning processes to find teachers implementing multicultural-based English language teaching and semi-structured interviews to explore the students' views. There are two main points of the findings of this study: 1) there are four dimensions of multicultural education exist in the teachers' implementation of multicultural-based English language teaching: content integration, knowledge construction process, prejudice reduction, and equity pedagogy; 2) Students have positive views toward the teachers' implementation of multicultural-based English language teaching. Thus, the researcher concluded that teachers and students have positive views towards implementing multicultural-based English language teaching, and teachers have been implementing multicultural-based English language teaching in their classes. Furthermore, similar studies in the future are better to discuss the implementation of multicultural-based English language teaching using other approaches or other theories to analyze different parts of it
The research is based on the increasing interest in swimming in the community and trying to provide an understanding that there are methods that can be used to increase the swimmers’ leg strength, especially freestyle swimming, by training methods using fins tools. Fins are one of the tools commonly used in diving. Fins consist of various types, including kaki kayak. Kaki kayaks or fins are made of rubber with widened shapes at the ends of the feet. Fins are swimming tools with many benefits, such as increasing propulsion speed for swimming practice. By using fins, swimmers can train leg muscle strength and produce swimming speed rates on freestyle legs; these fins can optimally increase the power of the legs and flex freestyle leg swings. Fins can also train flexibility in the ankles. The research used is quantitative research using experimental methods and the Discovery Learning approach. Discovery Learning is a method that aims to guide students to gain concepts from various data found through observation and experimentation. The research design used in this study is a one-group pretest-posttest design to compare conditions before and after treatment. Subjects from This research is a beginner swimmer at Garuda Laut Palopo, and this practice is carried out in the Wae Kambass swimming pool. The sample in this study were novice swimmers at the Palopo Sea Garuda. The population of this study is all beginner swimmers who are members of the Palopo Laut Garuda Club, totaling 15 people. Samples were taken by setting the age criteria of 9-21 years; novice swimmers included in this criterion counted ten people. The results of the research and discussion of the data obtained using a statistical approach concluded that there was a "significant effect of training using fins aids on the strength of the 50-meter freestyle leg swimming for beginner swimmers, Garuda Laut Palopo. From the conclusions above, several suggestions can be conveyed, namely to generate strength in freestyle swimming, especially in the legs.
