The advancement of gadget has progressed rapidly in the past 20 years, turning gadget as a basic need for everyone without exception, including to early childhood. However, the excessive use of gadgets may cause negative impacts. While parents cannot completely ban early childhood from using gadgets, they can apply mediation strategy to the children as gadget is indeed necessary for them to adapt in this digital era. The purpose of this article was to know the impact and mediation strategy of the parents towards the use of gadgets in early childhood. This article was made based on the review of some literature regarding the impact of gadget usage and parental mediation strategy from the perspective of parental mediation theory. The result of this article provides information to parents that there are three mediation strategies and positive impact from use of gadget on early childhood.
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kreativitas dalam profesi guru, salah satunya dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran. Peneliti memilih TK Sekolah Alam Bandung untuk dijadikan sebagai tempat penelitian. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran kreativitas guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran di TK Sekolah Alam Bandung. Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi dan wawancara kepada empat orang guru. kemudian hasil penelitian dianalisa dengan menggunakan teori tematik. Dalam penelitian ini gambaran kreativitas guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran dilihat dari segi produk kreatif berupa media pembelajaran. media kreatif dapat dinilai dengan tiga aspek yaitu kebaruan, resolusi, serta elaborasi dan sintesis. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: pertama, dilihat dari kebaruan media, media yang dibuat guru di TK Sekolah Alam Bandung memiliki ciri kebaruan, seperti 60-70% menggunakan bahan lingkungan sekitar. Kedua, dilihat dari aspek resolusi, media di TK Sekolah Alam Bandung tidak hanya dirancang untuk memudahkan guru akan tetapi disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan anak juga. Ketiga, dilihat dari aspek elaborasi dan sintesis, media yang dibuat guru di TK Sekolah Alam Bandung sebagian besar tampil sederhana tapi dibalik kesederhanaannya media memiliki banyak manfaat.
Abstrak : Penelitian ini berdasarkan temuan, bahwa saat ini mulai marak penggunaan gadget oleh anak usia dini yang tidak banyak dibatasi waktunya oleh orang tua sehingga menimbulkan ketergantungan. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pandangan dan upaya orang tua dalam mencegah ketergantungan anak terhadap penggunaan gadget. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 2 orang ibu dari anak usia dini yang sering menggunakan gadget. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pandangan orang tua terhadap penggunaan gadget untuk anak terdapat pendapat positif dan pendapat negatif. Adapun upaya orang tua untuk mencegah ketergantungan anak terhadap penggunaan gadget meliputi: 1) Bersikap tegas dengan melarang anak apabila sudah bermain terlalu lama; 2) tidak mencontohkan menggunakan gadget di depan anak sehingga harus bersembunyi saat menggunakan gadget; 3) mengajak anak untuk bermain diluar dan berinteraksi dengan tetangga dan mengalihkan perhatiannya dengan kegiatan lain; 4) memasukan anak kesekolah agar mengurangi frekuensi anak menggunakan gadget; 5) memberhentikan akses wifi dirumah. Adapun pihak yang membantu dalam pencegahan yaitu dari pihak keluarga yang membantu mengingatkan. Direkomendasikan bagi peneliti selanjutnya agar dapat mengembangkan penelitian lanjutan dengan memperdalam ketergantungan gadget pada anak usia dini ini, dengan desain penelitian lain atau menggunakan sampel yang lebih banyak.
Family nurture is one of parents’ attempts to guide and lead their children physically and mentally from born to adulthood. The family has a significant role in preparing individuals in the early stages of development of their members. Family members are expected to have an active role in the community where they live. Values, norms, and practices embedded in primary socialization are influenced by family background involving ethnicity, religion, culture, and social strata. This causes children to acquire character values slowly and below the parents’ expectations. This study aimed at obtaining information on children character values inculcation in Bugis family nurture as it has been stated in Law number 20 Year 2003. This study indicated that there was character values inculcation to children in Bugis family nurture. One of the parents’ roles was to inculcate noble values to children from birth to adulthood. To realize this mission, it was crucial to strengthen the character values and the Bugis family nurture as well as to cooperate with the people within the community, messages in the Bugis community to children occur through the process of socialization and enculturation. Socialization through a verbal process, namely through advice, advice, advice and also actions in the form of parents giving examples of what is good and not good for children, while the enculturation process occurs through habituation by children to the values learned from parents and to their children. surrounding environment.
The purpose of this study is to describe the basis of product requirements, product design, product testing process and product end results. This study uses the method Design Based Research (DBR) developed by Reeves. Data collection was carried out with observation techniques, expert judgment, interviews, and study documentation. Validation is carried out by media experts, and pedagogic experts, who will later be revised according to the advice of the validator until the product is said to be feasible. In general, this Powerpoint based learning media is suitable for use in learning. Reflection on the development of this product is to produce Powerpoint based learning media for the safety behavior pedestrian of children aged 5-6 years. This study produced Powerpoint based learning media files for the safety behavior pedestrian of 5-6 year olds in the form of Compact Disks (CD), and Powerpoint based learning media guidebooks for the safety behavior pedestrian of children aged 5-6 years.
