This study aimed to know students' opinions about the implementations of asynchronous learning (Screencast-O-Matic and Google-Form apps) during COVID-19, to identify the advantages and disadvantages were produced by these devices, as well as to analyze how big the students' confidence on this type of learning when implemented in the rural area. The subject of this study consisted of 45 respondents from the English education study program. They spread in the 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8thsemester. Qualitative descriptive students were used in this study. Among the questionnaire, open-ended questions and interviews were the methods to collect the data. The results of this study indicated these platforms had shown various obstacles. Over half of respondents criticize that limited internet access was one of the most significant restrictions when implementing asynchronous learning (Screencast-O-Matic and Google-Form apps). Although Screencast-O-Matic and Google-Form had some barriers in their virtual class, they provide more advantages. Many respondents believed they have all these advantages compared to the limits. The majority of respondents argued that it facilitated EFL students to increase acquisitions of language software that could contribute to students' ICT capabilities in particular.
This study is to know the teachers' perception of adopting a virtual classroom during a pandemic and discover the conveniences, obstacles, and suggestions when e-learning is being carried out. Sort of this research was qualitative using descriptive method. The method of choosing respondents used convenience sampling. Data collection used questionnaires and open-ended questions. Junior and senior high school teachers in North Maluku were respondents in this research. The subjects of this study were 92 respondents. To analyze the data using SPSS 17. Based on the finding, it found that majority of the teachers used several platforms for online home study during the lockdown. Either Single types of platforms or mixed e-learning was used to gain maximum results in instructional activity. Nine list advantages were addressed on e-learning; in the contrary, it also produced seven barriers. Additionally, the educators offered attractive and innovative ideas to tackle numerous obstacles among educators, students, and educational institutions
Buku ini membahas tentang pemanfaatan e-learning selama wabah pandemi, masalah yang muncul pada saat penerapan pembelajaran berbasis teknologi di masa pandemic, manfaat penerapan e-learning bagi institusi pendidikan, orang tua, guru, dan siswa, persepsi orang tua dan guru terhadap penerapan e-learning serta gagasan gagasan yang dikemukakan oleh guru guna mendukung dan mengatasi permasalahan yang muncul pada saat penerapan e-learning di masa COVID-19. Berbagai temuan penelitian baik dari bidang ilmu pendidikan maupun bidang ilmu lain menjadi rujukan oleh buku ini. Selain itu, buku ini mengulas beberapa hasil penelitian yang diperoleh berdasarkan studi kasus di Maluku utara terkait penerapan e-learning di masa pandemi sampai dengan kenormalan baru (new normal). Studi kasus penerapan e-learning di masa pandemic mengangkat permasalahan yang serjadi di semua tingkat pendidikan yakni sekolah dasar sekolah menengah pertama, sekolah menengah atas maupun di tingkat perguruan tinggi. Adapun permasalahan yang di kaji baik dari sudut pandang pendidik, orang tua, siswa dan tidak terkecuali institusi pendidikan. Saya menyampaikan terima kasih kepada civitas akademika Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris yang telah membantu dalam penyusunan buku ini sehingga berhasil diterbitkan pada tahun 2020 ini. Semoga kesempatan ini menjadi momen yang baik bagi civitas akademika Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Pasifik Morotai (UNIPAS) dalam meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas karya akademik mereka. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui persepsi orang tua terhadap penerapan pembelajaran berbasis elektronik pada masa kenormalan baru di sekolah yang terletak di daerah perbatasan. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif. Alat ukur penelitian menggunakan teknik wawancara dengan jenis wawancara “Open-ended question”. Terdapat 13 item yang di ajukan kepada wali murid. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada orang tua/wali murid di SMP Cucumare. Jumlah responden sebesar 20 responden. Dalam menganalisis data, peneliti menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat respon yang berbeda-beda dari orang tua/wali murid terhadap penerapan e-learning pada masa pandemic. Respon yang dikemukakan dikategorikan baik dalam bentuk positif maupun negative.
The aim of this research was to find out whether the teachers responded in inserting role play when they taught speaking. This research used a qualitative design and descriptive approach. The respondent of this research was 22 Senior High School and Junior High School teachers. In collecting the data, the researcher used a questionnaire and SPSS to analyze the data. The results show that the role-playing strategy consisted of four indicators: promote exhilaration, build self-confidence, encourage communication, and language acquisition improvement. Based on the research from the questionnaire, it can be concluded that all of the teachers have used the role-playing strategy in teaching speaking.
