This paper presents a discrete event system specification (DEVS)-based comparative performance analysis between the open shortest path first (OSPF) protocol and the routing information protocol (RIP), together with the border gateway protocol (BGP), using DEVS-Suite. In order to evaluate the OSPF and RIP's scalability performance, several network models are designed and configured with the OSPF and RIP, in combination with the BGP.Evaluations of the proposed routing protocols are performed based on the metrics, such as the execution time, convergence time, turnaround time, throughput, and efficiency across an increasing size and complexity through the simulated network models. The evaluation results show that the OSPF routing protocol provides a better scalability performance than the RIP routing protocol for Internet applications.
In this study, a tool was developed for design and implementation of a new discrete event based distributed simulation for large-scale networks. By using DEVS as a modelling approach, client / server based, scalable, platform-independent, flexible new network modelling and simulation tool called 'D-DEVSNET' was designed and performance analysis were conducted. In order to show the performance of the network simulation tool, D-DEVSNET and the power of the DEVS approach on parallel and distributed applications, some tests were carried out such as the measurement of throughput capability of different sized networks in a certain period of time, the average end-to-end packet delay and the amount of packet loss, consumption of speed and memory. According to the tests that were conducted, D-DEVSNET has been proven a well-scalable and high performing simulation tool.
Anahtar Kelimeler: Arduino, Kalibrasyon Laboratuvarının Sınıflandırılması, Sıcaklık-Nemölçer kayıt cihazı, TÜBİTAK UME Design and implementation digital thermo-hygrograph recorder for calibration laboratories ABSTRACTCalibration laboratory environments such as temperature and humidity values will be recorded continuously monitored and it is important for testing and measuring instruments. In this study, electronic, mechanical and avionics (aircrafts) testing and measuring instruments for calibration laboratories temperature and humidity values constantly observing the recording used in the analog measuring instrument rather economical and accurate digital measuring instruments have been proposed for this purpose an application has been developed. The developed application / device deviation tests were conducted at TÜBİTAK-UME and reliability has been verified.
