This study aims to identify the readiness of teachers to use mobile phones for the purpose of teaching preparation. The study also reviewed the level of teachers' satisfaction when using the mobile technology applications developed for the purpose of teaching and learning in the classroom. This study used the mix method to collect data. A total of 31 teachers were involved in answering the questionnaire and seven teachers were interviewed to obtain supportive data. The findings show that the use of applications on mobile phones can help teachers smoothen the lesson preparation. In addition, the use of mobile technology also gives satisfaction to the teachers in enhancing their knowledge in the field of teaching. However, the technical aspects are still a priority and influence the usability aspects of an educational application. The study also revealed that the end users' age factor is important because it affects the frequency and usage of mobile technology in developing their skills. In conclusion, the use of mobile technology among teachers is appropriate and facilitates the teaching activities.
The aim of this study is to identify and analyze the potential usage of Islamic Digital Resources in Polytechnic Brunei Darussalam. This research focus on identifying certain aspects which are (1) types of mobile device used; (2) learning activities that often used in mobile devices; (3) types of social media application favors by student; (4) determining most preferred method of teaching, and; (5) potential use of Islamic Digital Resources. The study uses quantitative approach through survey instrument (questionnaire) that involves 50 students. The data is analyzed using descriptive statistic (percentage frequency distribution and min). Findings show that the potential to create Islamic Digital Resources in Polytechnic is promising. This is based on the compatibility of mobile devices own by students, the familiarity in doing learning activities in mobile devices and willingness to learn through digital. The conclusion is Islamic Digital Resources in Polytechnic is suitable to be developed and applied in teaching and learning. At the end of the study, a few issues regarding the usage of Islamic Digital Resources has been discussed.
Utilizations of Infographics for Dissatisfied Netizens towards Zakat Institutions in Malaysia ABSTRACT Resentment towards zakat institutions in Malaysia is viral issues among netizens. Netizens’ dissatisfaction towards the institutions includes proportions of zakat distribution, service quality, consumer attitude and trust in the institution. Therefore, this paper aims to explore the potentials of infographics as an effective communication tool to provide accurate information and to address issues and concerns raised by the netizens. This study was qualitatively conducted via observation checklists on the institutions’ social media platforms as part of their initiatives to eradicate poverty. This study employed the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) method to determine the effectiveness of infographics in communicating and delivering the intended information. The findings showed that the institutions’ participation in social media was still at an infant stage and has not been fully utilized. Nevertheless, the use of infographics was successful in presenting details, particularly broad and complicated ones and, in assisting users to retain facts. In terms of colour combination options in the infographics, it has played essential roles in attracting users and presenting a wide range of information. Subsequently, several recommendations on the use of infographics as a valuable tool of communication are put forth in addressing the netizens’ issues and concerns towards zakat institutions in Malaysia. This needs analysis study was undertaken to obtain a preview of the acceptance of Geo-Education Module as a new module in environmental education. This study focused on the needs of module building, the importance of knowing the natural ecosystem, the need for exposure to natural disasters and sustainable lifestyles. This study used a mixed method that combined quantitative and qualitative data. This design of quantitative research involved a survey through questionnaires distributed online. A total of 192 trainee teachers from the Institute for Teacher Education and Public University located in the north of peninsular Malaysia were selected. While the qualitative study involved interviews with five study participants. The findings showed that this module is in high demand for teaching environmental education and were important in providing information to teachers and students. The findings also indicated that the majority of respondents were aware of the aspects of environmental protection that are important to be applied in various fields of study. The importance of creating materials or modules that touch on current aspects is an ongoing step in developing future strategies for preparing for any natural disaster. The implications of developing modules in the current context were discussed in this study.
