Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is one of the commodities of potential as a source of carbohydrates and important on Indonesia's economy. One of the constraints of potato production is soft rot disease caused by Erwinia carotovora (syn. Pectobacterium carotovorum) which is needed to be controlled. One alternative control measures is the used of bacteria Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas fluorescens for biological control. The purpose of this research is to know the potential of B. subtilis and P. fluorescens in single and in combination to inhibit potato soft rot diseases caused by E. carotovora. The results showed that biological control agents B. subtilis and P. fluorescens in single or in combination both of them (T3 to T17) have potential in inhibiting the growth of pathogenic E. carotovora by showing the clear zone. Biological agents provides nearly the same effect if compared with the bactericide Agrept (T2). Based on the results of the statistical analysis, the treatment 11 th and treatment 14 th showed a clear zone wider than the Agrept treatment (T2). The treatment 11 th contain combination of biological agents B. subtilis (10 9 cfu/ml) and P.fluorescens (10 5 cfu/ml), while the treatment 14 th contain combination of biological agents B.subtilis (10 7 cfu/ml) and P. fluorescens (10 5 cfu/ml).
Compost Production in Household Waste Management by Using Composter Bag in Ayunan Village, Badung Regency Developing Ayunan Village as tourism village will increase the visitors and activities that has impact on waste generation in the village. A good waste management in the village will support the convenience and cleanliness the tourism village. The project aims to accelerate the involvement of village community in managing their household waste in supporting the Ayunan Village as tourism village. The main activity is empowering about 50 PKK community member to make compost from organic household waste by using composter bag. A workshop in organic waste recycling into compos has been conducted and followed by monitoring to each household to make sure the program is ongoing. According to regular monitoring, the PKK members can manage the organic waste and recycle it into compos by using the composter bag. As recommendation, the village authority should continue this initiative to other households to guarantee the sustainability of the program and increase the community involvement in handling their waste.
Cocoa is one of the plantation commodities which in the last decade has become a source of income for Balinese farmers. However, the current condition of farmers' income from cocoa cultivation has decreased due to several factors including weeds, pest and diseases. This study aims to determine the type and dominance of weeds on cocoa plantations, their impact on cocoa main pests and diseases. The research was carried out by the observation method, namely direct observation of the farmers' cocoa gardens. Weed samples were calculated using the quadratic method, observing the attack of pests was determined by diagonal methods before and after the maintenance of cocoa plants. The results of the study found that there were 10 species of weeds that disrupted cocoa plants in Tabanan regency namely, Cyperusrotundus L, Imperatacylindrica L, Arachniodesaristata (G. Forst) Tindale, Brachiariamutica, Colocasia esculenta L Schott, Crassocephalumcrepidioides, Axonopuscompressus (Swartz) Beauv , Mikania micrantha Kunt, Ageratum conyzoides L, Synedrellanodiflora L. The highest density was found in the S. nodiflora L. type which was 5.73 units / m2, followed by A. conyzoides L. 4.86 units / m2, and C. crepidioideswhich was 4.0 units / m2. The lowest density is found in I. cylindrica L which is 0.86 units / m2. The poorly maintained cocoa plantations, only 30.14% of the potential results that should have been obtained, 31.37% were damaged by Phytophthora palmivora, 21.16% damaged by Helopeltis sp. and 17.33% were damaged by Conophomorpacramerella. Technical improvement in cultivation canincrease potential the results by 62.86% of total cocoa production. Besides that, there was a decrease in the attack of P. palmivora to only 7.84%, Helopeltis sp. 5.70% and C. cramerella 12.5%.
