The objective of this study was to analyze the dynamics and community structure of Cyanobacteria, and trophic status of intensive shrimp culture (Litopenaeus vannamei) ponds in Situbondo based on Trophic Diatom Index (TDI). The ex post facto research was conducted in situ in the hamlet of Pond Mutiara Mas III Klatakan Situbondo, East Java Indonesia. The observation of Cyanobacteria and diatom community structure were conducted weekly during four cycles of shrimp farming ponds. Cycle of shrimp farming ponds is a cultivation period of the shrimps from seed to mature which ranges from 90-120 days. The dependent variables were the density of Cyanobacteria and diatom community, as well as chemical parameters, namely nitrite and orthophosphate. Trophic status was determined using TDI counted from diatom density. All of the data were then classified using cluster and biplot analysis program PAST ver. 3.11 to describe the profile of ecosystem quality. The research results showed that four Genera of Cyanobacteria were identified as Oscillatoria, Anabaena, Microcystis, and Merismopedia during the farming cycles with Oscillatoria was the highest density. Based on the TDI values, the trophic status of the waters in the shrimp ponds was eutrophic until hyper-eutrophic. The water quality decreased along with the length of incubation time.
TPI Sendang Biru berada di Kabupaten Malang memiliki potensi yang besar baik dalam bidang penyediaan pasokan ikan ataupun sarana prasarana penunjang lainnya. Pelabuhan perikanan tersebut dipersiapkan sebagai pusat pertumbuhan ekonomi perikanan di wilayah selatan Provinsi Jawa Timur. Pemerintah melalui Direktorat Jenderal Perikanan Tangkap Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan Tahun 2018 telah menyelesaikan relokasi pembangunan kios ikan berkonsep higienis pada wilayah tersebut untuk menunjang mutu hasil ikan dan harga jual ikan tetap tinggi. Sejalan dengan hal tersebut Pemerintah Propinsi Jawa Timur saat ini melakukan pengembangan jalur lintas selatan untuk mempermudah aksesbilitas. Namun, adanya wabah pandemi Covid-19 saat ini menyebabkan dampak yang besar pada berbagai bidang termasuk bidang perikanan. Hal tersebut menyebabkan bukan hanya minat beli masyrakat yang menurun, namun keterbatasan jalur distribusi produk juga menghambat transaksi jual-beli masyarakat. Berdasarkan hal tersebut perlu dilakukan pelatihan dan pembinaan manajemen pemasaran produk-produk perikanan di TPI Sendang Biru berbasis media jual-beli online. Metode edukasi yang dilakukan adalah seminar dengan topik strategi pemasaran digital berbasis media sosial dan workshop berbasis toko online atau marketplace. Melalui program ini diharapkan dapat menjadi salah satu langkah awal dalam menghadapi tantangan-tantangan baru dalam penanggulangan pemulihan ekonomi pasca pandemi Covid-19, serta dapat memperluas jejaring pemasaran para nelayan atau penjual ikan di wilayah tersebut bahkan hingga keadaan normal kembali.
Skin cancer had become one of the most occurring type of cancer all around the world. The needs for alternative additional substance in sunscreen, especially from natural ingredients become important. Seaweed is one of marine natural resource known for its many benefits and widely used in cosmetic industries. The purpose of this research are to determine the photoprotective activity of Eucheuma sp. extract obtained from different type of solvents against ultraviolet radiation and its effect. Eucheuma sp. extracted by maceration using two different solvents (methanol and ethyl acetate). Filtrate obtained from maceration evaporated until the consistency are pasta-shaped and tested using spectrophotometer to determine the SPF, % of Te, and % Tp. The result of spectrophotometer tests evaluated and analyzed to determine which solvent generate the best value of SPF, % of Te, and % of Tp. The result of this this research showed that the highest SPF value are present in ethyl acetate extract (SPF 26.4). The best value of Te and Tp percentage are also present in the ethyl acetate extract with their respective values: 0.88% and 18.64%. The conclusion of this research are Eucheuma sp. extract had a good potential of photoprotective activity.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi komposisi jenis dan kerapatan vegetasi mangrove di Pulau Karang Raya, Kabupaten Belitung Timur, Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung. Metode penelitian exploratif yaitu ex post facto sesuai dengan kondisi lapang. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan metode transek kuadran 10 x 10 m dengan 3 transek dan line transek sepanjang 50 m. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas meliputi komposisi, nilai Indeks Nilai Penting (INP), dan kerapatan jenis vegetasi mangrove. Hasil yang didapatkan komposisi jenis vegetasi mangrove terdiri dari lima jenis yaitu Bruguiera clyndrica, Bruguiera gymnorhiza, Rhizopora apiculate, Rhizopora mucronata, dan Sonneratia alba. Rhizopora mucronata memiliki nilai INP tertinggi pada tiga stasiun pengamatan. Kerapatan dan persentase penutupan vegetasi mangrove pada stasiun I dan II termasuk kategori sangat padat dan baik. Sedangkan pada stasiun III menunjukan kategori nilai kerapatan yang bervariasi yaitu jarang, sedang, dan padat, serta kategori persentase penutupan rusak dan baik.
The aims of study are to analyze the effect of dissolved nitrate and phosphate content of the intensive shrimp farming pond Situbondo to maximum growth rate and carrying capacity of Oscillatoria population density in the laboratory. This is an experimental research method using completely randomized design with three replications. The treatment were variation of nitrate and phosphate concentration (N0; N6; N12; N24; N48; P0,2; P0,4; P0.8, P1.6 mg.L-1). Experiment was done using a pure Oscillatoria culture in condition 25 watt lamp; 12 hours a day. The initial amount of Oscillatoria cells used for the treatment is 8-15 x 10 4 cell.mL-1. During the incubation process, chemical parameters were also observed including nitrate, phosphate, DO, and pH at the beginning of the incubation period. Oscillatoria cell was count every day until stationary phase for 30 days. Furthermore, a different test between treatments was conducted to determine levels of nitrate and phosphate in triggering the blooming of Oscillatoria using Oneway ANOVA analysis with SPSS Program. The results showed that the intensive shrimp pond waters of Situbondo already contain dissolved phosphate between 0.4-0.5 mg.L-1. Oscillatoria growth is strongly influenced by dissolved phosphate content in waters, phosphate levels of 0.2-0.4 or equivalent to the actual level of 0.6-0.7 mg.L-1 can cause the highest abundance of Oscillatoria that could endanger the ecosystem.
