Mixed methods research is currently developing and has become an interesting issue and trend in the field of education. This makes the writers want to provide a reference and technical guidance to increase students' knowledge in providing mixed methods research. This type of research is literature review research that discusses various interesting issues from journals and books related to this research theme. This article describes matters related to the definition, types and procedures of mixed methods, population and samples, instruments, data collection and data analysis techniques carried out by mixed methods. The results of this study provide clarity and important exposure to research methodologies for students who will carry out their research in the field of education that focuses on mixed methods research. Hence, the research method will provide advantages of both quantitative and qualitative approaches to unveil the research phenomena in depth. In addition, this research has also real implications for students and researchers in carrying out good and appropriate mixed methods research.
Abstract. Science education researchers will never stop looking for the best way in learning. This is based on the fact that research on this issue has been mostly conducted in 21 century, the present science subject is not only about transferring knowledge but also how the students obtain a knowledge directly. This paper is concerned with one kind of the learnings that can support the students to get a knowledge called as a learning-based on lab inquiry. In Lab Inquiry learning, the students directly experience and look for the solution from a phenomenon through particular ways thus the learning will be more meaningful. Those steps are as follows; observation, asking, conducting an experiment, concluding and communicating. All of them are mainly important includes the communicating step. Communication ability can be viewed from how a student can provide an argument. Argumentation ability of a student will be crucially better if there is a use of analogical mapping-based. In this literature study, it is therefore argued that the students' argumentation ability by that analogical mapping-based can be improved through Lab Inquiry.
Education 4.0 is an education program to support the creation of intelligent education. Smart education in which aims to forge skills in the form of problem-solving, working in teams, communication, critical thinking, creativity, and digital literacy. To prepare for the challenges of education in the revolutionary 4.0 era, Indonesia increased the ability and skills of human resources, especially in the field of education. To achieve the learning objectives of education 4.0, educators are required to be able to know the stages of early integrated development of Islam. This is very important because children's skills and intelligence must be formed from an early age to be able to face the challenges of the educational era 4.0. The purpose of this paper is to describe the urgency of knowledge of the development of integrated Islamic age children for educators in the face of the era of education 4.0. This research is descriptive. Research data obtained from studies and analysis sourced from books, journals, and other documents needed as needed. The result of this study is that educators can understand and realize the importance of knowledge of the development of integrated early childhood Islam in facing the challenges of education in the future. Thus educators can choose the right teaching methods for children
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pembelajaran IPA di SMP Negeri 1 Tanah Putih Tanjung Melawan yang selama ini masih didominasi oleh metode diskusi dan tanya jawab dan hal ini berimplikasi pada rendahnya nilai siswa pada materi organisasi kehidupan dan kemampuan berkritis siswa. Oleh karena itu diperlukan upaya untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa melalui preses pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model pembelajaraan kooperatif tipe Team Asisted Individualization (TAI) pada materi organisasi kehiduapan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Metode quasi experimental design dengan desain “The Nonequivalent Control Design” dengan pemilihan sampel secara “Purposive Sampling”. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VII.1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas VII.2 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu instrumen tes berupa soal dan angket yang didukung oleh lembar observasi serta dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil olah data diketahui nilai sig. 0.003 < 0.05 yang bermakna bahwa ada perbedaan signifikan antara nilai kelas kontrol dan eksperimen. Hal ini menunjukkan Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak sehingga disimpulkan adanya “Pengaruh Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Asisted Individualization (TAI) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP Negeri 1 Tanah Putih Tanjung Melawan pada materi organisasi kehidupan”.
