Inadequate nurse's knowledge and poor skills associated with negative outcome. EBP help CCNs to apply invasive procedure safely at ICU through simulated education. Aim: To evaluate the impact of simulated education on nurses' knowledge and performance about invasive procedure at Intensive Care Units : evidence based practice. Subject and method: quasi-experimental design, purposive sample of all ICUs nurses, number were 65 nurses whom assigned to work at ICUs of Minia University Hospitals in Minia City, Egypt. Results: More than half of them (61.5%) were female and (38.5 %) male. The majority of them were new graduated less than 5 years of experience (81.6%). (100 %) of CCNs had unsatisfactory knowledge about EBP and ideal performance of invasive procedures before education, after it their knowledge improved to (87.7%) and (84.6) at post and follow up program. After educational program the majority of CCNs apply invasive procedure using EBP satisfactory at the post program and follow up program phase. There were a statistically significant improvement of CCNs mean score in all dimensions related to general performance post program and follow up program. Conclusion: There were a positive correlation between EBP knowledge, procedural intervention and general performance after the simulated education program.
Background: Mindfulness as being aware of present experience with acceptance. Emotion regulation as the process by which individuals influence which emotions they have, when they have them, and how they experience and express these emotions. Also quality of nursing work life is the degree to which nurses are satisfied with their personal needs; while achieving their organizational goals, which in turn, leads to an increase the productivity. The aim of the study: Was to assess mindfulness among head nurses, and its effect on staff nurses' emotional regulation and quality of work life. Subject and method: A study design: a descriptive correlation design was used. Setting:The study was conducted at Health Insurance Hospital, Minia. Egypt. Subjects: The present study includes all head nurses (n= 26) and all staff nurses (n= 222) who is working at the previous Hospital. Tools of data collection: 1 st Personal data sheet, 2 nd Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire, 3 rd Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, and 4 th Quality of Nursing Work Life Survey. Results: Revealed that half of the head nurses rated low regarding total mindfulness, less than half of staff nurses rated moderate regarding total emotional regulation. Nearly to half of staff nurses rated low regarding the total quality of work life. Also, there is a positive correlation between mindfulness and emotional regulation, and mindfulness with quality of work life. Conclusion: The present study concluded that mindfulness among head nurses affect positively staff nurses' emotional regulation and quality of work life. Recommendations: Develop and deliver a training course to enhance the mindfulness of nurses who in turn have a positive impact on emotional regulation and work life quality.
Aim of the study was to investigate procrastination and its relation with self-efficacy and clinical decision making among staff nurses. Subject and method: A descriptive correlational design was used to fulfill the aim of this study.
Purpose: The aim of the study was to identify factors affecting nurses' career development and its relation to turnover intention.Methodology: Correlation comparative research design was done to fulfill the aim of this study. The study was conducted at Assiut university Hospitals and Minia university Hospitals. A representative sample 50% from staff nurses at Assiut university Hospitals and Minia university Hospitals (n=938). Two tools was used for collecting data for this study, career Development Questionnaire and Modified Anticipated Turnover Scale (ATS).Results: Affirmed that the majority of staff nurses at the Assiut university hospitals had the highest percentage regarding factors affecting career development, and had the lowest percentage regarding turnover intention than the staff nurses at Minia university hospital.Conclusion: There were negative correlations between factors affecting nurses' career development and turnover intention among Assiut staff nurses. While, there were positive correlations between factors affecting nurses' career development and turnover intention among Minia staff nurse.Recommendation: Administrative authority should provide support and resources, in-services training programs; opportunities to upgrade career development; and develop effective strategies to improve the staff nurses satisfaction and reduce their intention to leave.
