Background:The goal of head nurses is to achieve patient safety, which is considered a critical component of quality health care. Aim: To assess the effect of applying a training program about international patient safety goals on patient's safety culture at Rajhy Liver Hospital, Assiut University. Subject and method: A quasi-experimental design used to conduct this study. The study subjects included all head nurses (n=29) from different health care units. The data collection tool included three tools: I. Personal data questionnaire, II. Head nurses management regarding patient's safety questionnaire, and III. Hospital survey on patient's safety culture questionnaire. Results: there was a highly statistically significant difference with a strong positive correlation impact between head nurses' management regarding applying international patient safety goals using the PDCA model and patient's safety culture.
Conclusion:The implementation of a training program is successful and effective in improving head nurses' management regarding applying international patient safety goals using the PDCA model after implementing the training program. Recommendations: The continuous training program and development activities about international patient safety goals should be applied to all head and staff nurses in the study setting, and extended to other similar settings.
Purpose: The aim of the study was to identify factors affecting nurses' career development and its relation to turnover intention.Methodology: Correlation comparative research design was done to fulfill the aim of this study. The study was conducted at Assiut university Hospitals and Minia university Hospitals. A representative sample 50% from staff nurses at Assiut university Hospitals and Minia university Hospitals (n=938). Two tools was used for collecting data for this study, career Development Questionnaire and Modified Anticipated Turnover Scale (ATS).Results: Affirmed that the majority of staff nurses at the Assiut university hospitals had the highest percentage regarding factors affecting career development, and had the lowest percentage regarding turnover intention than the staff nurses at Minia university hospital.Conclusion: There were negative correlations between factors affecting nurses' career development and turnover intention among Assiut staff nurses. While, there were positive correlations between factors affecting nurses' career development and turnover intention among Minia staff nurse.Recommendation: Administrative authority should provide support and resources, in-services training programs; opportunities to upgrade career development; and develop effective strategies to improve the staff nurses satisfaction and reduce their intention to leave.

Studies of high-performing organizations suggest that one key to success is an engaged workforce that acts proactively to resolve performance problems. Aim: Explore head nurses' interpersonal relationships and it's effect on work engagement and proactive work behavior.
Aim of this study: was to examine the perception of nursing students about importance of educational needs and its relation to academic achievement. Methodology: A descriptive correlational design was used for this study. Setting: The present study was conducted at nursing faculty in Minia University. Subject: The present study included a total coverage sample includes all four academic years nursing students during academic year (2012)(2013). Total number of students was (n=727). Tools of the study: 1 st tool was demographic data sheet, 2 nd tool was Nursing Education Importance Instrument (NEII) developed by Schorpp, (2008), and 3 rd tool was student academic achievement. Results: This study revealed that, there was a highly statistical significant differences among the four academic years nursing students as all fourth year nursing students had reported that the educational needs is very important. Conclusions: there was a highly statistical significant difference between perception of the four academic years nursing students about importance of educational needs and academic achievement (favoring to the students had excellent, and followed very good grade). Recommendations: Ask authoritative persons to improve educational environment through providing more space, and educational resources for conducting teaching learning process.
