Abstract-The main objective of this research is to explore the results of the use of videos as an educational tool which helps increasing students' motivation in any discipline. The study is based on several streaming videos created as a support material for learning and used by 12 lecturers with 487 students in three different degrees of engineering (Mechanical, Industrial and Management, and Aeronautical) at the School of Industrial and Aeronautical Engineering of Terrassa (ETSEIAT). The paper describes the different areas and ways in which this innovative learning tool has been used and emphasizes the skills developed in each application. Finally, it presents the results of the impact of the use of videos upon students' motivation.
This study considers the relationship between the size of the firm and innovation policy. The study includes a joint analysis of distribution and the effect of R&D subsidies on inputs and outputs of the innovation process of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and large firms. Although size has a significant, positive influence on firms' propensity to obtain R&D subsidies, large firms do not always show the strongest effects and in some cases such an effect is not significant. The study likewise concludes that subsidies are effective in increasing the inputs to the innovation process of SMEs and the outputs of large firms. One must consider these differences when evaluating and designing future innovation policies.
The purpose of this article is to provide a conceptual mapping of challenges in the open innovation model's implementation in service sector. For this aim, content analysis of scientific articles was performed using MAXQDA10, primarily in the industries of telecommunications, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and automobile services. These articles were selected from a search using data base ISI Web of Knowledge and web content analysis. The open innovation's challenges for its implementation in service sector were grouped in three macro challenges cited as the most relevant by Chesbrough and Brunswicker [1]. These challenges are presented in three stages: organizational change management, external relationship management with innovation and commercialization sources and effectiveness of intellectual property protection.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
