Background:The prevalence of adolescent obesity is increasing worldwide with proportions varying from country to country or between geographical regions within a country. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nutrition education with booklet media on knowledge, fast food consumption, calorie intake, and body mass index (BMI) in adolescents. Subjects and Method: This was a quasy experiment with no control group. The study was conducted in Junior high school in Medan, North Sumatera. A sample of 31 adolescents was selected by purposive sampling. The dependent variables were knowledge, fast-food consumption, calorie intake, and BMI. The independent variables were booklet media. Means of knowledge, fast food consumption, calorie intake, and BMI before and after intervention was examined by ttest. Results: Mean of knowledge after intervention (Mean= 12.90; SD= 2.71) was higher than before (Mean= 8.77; SD= 1.54) and it was statisticaly significant (p<0.001). Mean of fast food con-sumption after intervention (Mean= 9.48; SD= 1.38) was lower than before (Mean= 10.03; SD= 1.16) and it was statistically significant (p= 0.007). Mean of calorie intake after intervention (Mean= 2735.12; SD= 1999.9) was lower than before (Mean= 2821.09; SD= 216.13) and it was statistically significant (p= 0.003). BMI after intervention (Mean= 26.58; SD= 2.49) was equal with before intervention (Mean= 26.81; SD= 2.49). Conclusion: Nutrition education with booklet improves knowledge, reduces fast food consumption, and reduce calorie intake.
Abstract The latrine is a place that is used to remove feces or human waste. Making latrines is a human effort to maintain health by making the environment a healthy place. Based on the results of an initial survey of 10 households at Desa Busung, Teupah Tengah Sub District, Simeuleu District, 7 households had latrines that did not meet the requirements of healthy latrines and 3 households had latrines that met the requirements of healthy latrine. of this study was to determine the factors related to the ownership of the family's healthy latrines at Desa Busung, Teupah Tengah Sub District, Simeulue District in 2018. The design of this research is analytical survey research method with cross sectional design. The populations in this study were 177 households at Desa Busung, Teupah Tengah Sub District of Simeuleu District. The research sample was 64 families, taken by proportionate random sampling technique. The data obtained with primary data in the form of a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed in univariate and bivariate using chi-square test. showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p = 0.021) of education (p = 0.043) and the role of health workers (p = 0.038) with the ownership of family healthy latrines at Desa Busung, Teupah Tengah Sub District of Simeuleu Districtk.
In the era of globalization, the dissemination of information is done quickly and easily. The development of technology is the background of this condition. This study aims to determine the effect of social media on adolescent premarital sex in SMA Negeri 8 Jambi City. This design is a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Data collection methods of observation, interviews, and documentation. The key informants of the research were 2 students and 1 BK teacher with supporting informants from parents, friends outside of school, school friends and informants' boyfriends and continued in a synergistic comprehensive manner involving stakeholders and grassroots. The results of in-depth interviews found that the condition of teenagers at SMA Negeri 8 Jambi City was well behaved, students' media exposure using social media such as whatsapp, instagram, youtube via cellphone for daily activities in doing school assignments, students acknowledged a change in behavior after using social media and towards premarital sex teenagers consider holding hands with the opposite sex is normal. Social media conclusions have an influence on them by imitating what they see that changes their behavior and way of thinking in carrying out their roles as teenagers. It is recommended that the school improve supervision of students in the use of cellphones during school hours, and Adolescent Reproductive Health and Information communication officers increase the intensity of visits to schools to disseminate wisdom in the use of social media
Menurut World Health Organization (WHO) 2018 Berat badan lahir rendah (BBLR) penyebab tidak langsung dari kematian neonatal. BBLR berkontribusi 60% hingga 80% dari semua kematian neonatal dan berdasarkan survei awal angka kejadian BBLR sebanyak 30 bayi dari 90 kelahiran dikarenakan status gizi ibu pada masa kehamilannya. Untuk mengetahui hubungan status gizi ibu hamil dengan BBLR di Klinik Pratama Hanum Tahun 2021. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kohort restropektif studi. Populasi dan sampel penelitian ini adalah seluruh ibu yang melahirkan dengan kejadian BBLR bulan Juni 2020 – Juni 2021, analisis data menggunakan chis-square. Mayoritas ibu yang bergizi kurang (93,3%) mengalami berat bayi rendah sebanyak (83,3%). Berdasarkan hasil uji chis-square Status gizi berdasarkan LILA dengan BBLR diperoleh p-value =1,00 dan antara status gizi berdasarkan IMT dengan BBLR diperoleh p-value 0,029. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara status gizi berdasarkan LILA dan IMT dengan Berat Badan Lahir Rendah. Diharapkan Bidan meningkatkan penyuluhan tentang gizi selama kehamilan sehingga dapat mencegah terjadinya BBLR
