CT skills are one of the skills required by students in facing the real world problems in 21st century era. They can be trained by using several approaches in science learning context. However, there is a little study focused to investigate the impact of IA toward CT skills. This present study investigated the implementation of IA to enhance students’ CT skills. The experimental study, which was one group pretest posttest design, has been conducted to garner data from participants. There were 36 students (grade XI) who contributed as participants and they came from one public senior high school in Indonesia. In order to obtain data, an instrument related to CT skills was developed dealing with physics concepts. This finding revealed that students’ CT skills enhanced in medium category based on normalized gain (N-gain). A consideration of the implication of this present study is a deep insight in students’ CT skills in Indonesian high schools.
This study aims to improve students’ creative thinking skills in physics learning on fluid topics by applying contextual problem-based learning. The research location was in one of the senior high school in a remote area in Bima district. The research subjects were selected by purposive sampling technique on eleventh-grade students with the number of students’ as many as ten peoples. The data were collected by using creative thinking skills test in essay and reasoned multiple choice that conducted before and after learning. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that out of ten students there were two students who had an increase in creative thinking skills in the very creative category and six students who had an increase in creative thinking skills in the creative category. While two students who had an increase in creative thinking skills in the less creative category. Therefore, it can be said that the use of contextual problems in physics learning can help improve students’ creative thinking skills.
This aim of this research application of STEM learning with the 6th-semester student object of physics education study program STKIP Taman Siswa Bima. The research subject is creative thinking skills. This study uses a One Group Pretest - Posttest Design with Pretest design; to measure students’ creative thinking at the beginning of learning (Y_1), Implement STEM (X), and Posttest based learning; to measure students’ creative thinking at the end of learning (Y_2). The instruments in this study were student activity sheets, student response questionnaires, and instruments for assessing students’ creative thinking skills using open-ended questions via Google Form and assessing creative products produced by students. Student responses and activities were analyzed in terms of percentages, while for creative thinking skills students were analyzed descriptively qualitatively using N-Gain. The instruments in this study used open-ended and prototype tests. The test is used to see the level of creative thinking of students, while the prototype is used as an assessment of students’ creative products. Analysis of creative thinking skills with an average value of 78 is at the creative level, while creative products (prototype) with an average value of 84 are at a very creative level. So it can be concluded that the application of STEM-based online learning can train students’ creative thinking skills during the COVID-19 pandemic.
