Some transition metal 4-methylpiperazine-1-carbodithioic acid complexes with perchlorate as counter anion of the general formula [M(LH) n ](ClO 4 ) n (LH 5 4-methylpiperazine-1-carbodithioic acid, M 5 Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and n 5 2; M 5 Fe(III) and n 5 3) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, conductance, infrared and electronic absorption spectra and room-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements. A square-planar structure for the complexes of the type [M(LH) 2 ](ClO 4 ) 2 (M 5 Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II)) and the existence of a high spin-low spin equilibrium phenomenon for [Fe(LH) 3 ](ClO 4 ) 3 have been proposed. The former complexes exhibit 1 : 2 while the latter complex exhibits 1 : 3 electrolytic behavior, respectively.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
