A peptic ulcer is common gastrointestinal disorder. Peptic ulcers are sores on the stomach, small intestine, or esophageal lining. It is caused by H. pylori infection regular usage of NSAID’s, irregular food habits, stress, Gastric Acid Secretions. Various synthetic drugs are available for the treatment of peptic ulcer. But these are expensive and produce more side effects as compared to herbal drugs. The literature revealed that many herbal drugs and polyherbal formulations are used in the treatment of peptic ulcer. In this review is a compilation of knowledge gathered from the research papers published and review the various herbal drugs and polyherbal formulation used for peptic ulcer.

Adansonia digitata native to Africa, also found in India belongs to Bombacaceae family. Every part of the plant should be edible. Baobab is older than 4000 years. Adansonia digitata consists of various phytochemical constituents identified from various parts which are vitamin-C, steroids, flavonoids, epicatechin, campesterol, amino acid etc. It is used in the treatment of bronchial asthma, dermatitis, sickle cell anemia, diuretic, anti-diabetic, diarrhoea, dysentery, laxative, hiccough in children, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, antidote for poison, anti-trypanosome uses. The present article summarizes the review of phytochemical, pharmacological activity.

Herbal medicine refers to the use of any plant's seeds, berries, roots, leaves, bark, or flowers for medicinal purposes. The objective of the study was to formulate and evaluate the antimicrobial herbal ointment from ethanolic extracts of leaves of Colocasia esculenta. The ointment base was created, and the ointment was made by using the levigation process to incorporate the extract into the base. It was assessed for physicochemical criteria such as colour, odour, pH, spreadability, extrudability, consistency, diffusion studies, solubility, and washability once the formulation was completed. The formulation was further tested for stability at various temperatures, revealing no differences in irritancy, spreadability.
