This study aimed to describe and analyze the teacher beliefs of early childhood teachers. The research method was used descriptive quantitative. Sampling was done by random sampling as many as 85 teachers. The data analyzed by using descriptive analysis to find the mean, standard deviation, and categorization. The results showed that most of the teachers still belonged to traditional literacy beliefs. Teachers need to be encouraged to build constructivist knowledge and skills so that the implementation of literacy learning in early childhood is more optimal.
Social interaction is an early foundation for children to learn recognizing their surrounding environment. This study aimed to examine the relationship and contribution of teacher social skill in interaction between children through language development, especially speaking in early ages. The research was conducted I Bandar Lampung as from September through October 2015. The research subjects were 30 early childhood teachers in Bandar Lampung, which was carried out through purposive sampling technique. The research method was conducted with a quantitative approaches-regression method. The data was collected through a questionnaire and was analyzed by using simple linear regression analysis. The results showed a regression coefficient between variables for 0,511, with a significance value of 0,003. Interaction performed deeply by teachers on children has a significant influence to the children’s speak development. Although the contribution has not been adequate, it indicates that the quality and quantity of interaction between teachers and children needs to be increased.
Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan storytelling kepada pendidik anak usia dini dalam rangka mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis anak usia dini melalui kegiatan membacakan cerita (storytelling). Adapun secara khusus tujuan dari pelatihan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan: (1) pemahaman guru tentang pentingnya storytelling sebagai salah satu cara mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada pembelajaran anak usia dini; (2) pemahaman tentang strategi pembelajaran melalui kegiatan storytelling sebagai salah satu cara mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis anak usia dini. Metode yang dipilih dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan pendampingan storytelling baik itu melalui penyuluhan (pemberian materi), diskusi, latihan simulasi, serta pemberian tugas (workbook). Pelatihan dilaksanakan dalam beberapa tahap yaitu, tahap awal (sosialisasi), tahap pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Sasaran kegiatan adalah guru TK di Gugus Labuhan Ratu, Bandar Lampung yang diselenggarakan di TK Amarta Tani HKTI Bandar Lampung berjumlah sekitar 35 orang. Pengujian keefektifan pelatihan dilakukan melalui uji pre-test dan post-test, yang dianalisis menggunakan uji beda. Berdasarkan hasil analisis terdapat 66% peserta yang mengalami kenaikan skor sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan, dan kenaikan rata-rata sebesar 1.2. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan serta peningkatan pemahaman peserta dalam melakukan aktifitas storytelling sebagai salah satu bentuk kegiatan yang dapat membantu anak mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis.
Keutamaan penelitian ini adalah upaya menyusun instrumen karakter anak usia dini dan kualitas lingkungan keluarga. Sehingga diharapkan dapat berkontribusi dalam mengatasi isu rendahnya kualitas SDM pada sebagian generasi muda. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis hubungan kualitas lingkungan keluarga terhadap karakter anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan desain penelitian cross sectional study. Lokasi penelitian dilaksanakan di TK Kota Bandar Lampung. Metode pengambilan sampel sekolah menggunakan metode cluster random sampling. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling. Total sampel sebanyak 30 keluarga. Metode analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya hubungan signifikan positif antara kualitas lingkungan keluarga dengan karakter anak usia dini (r=0,275, p=0,003).
