The intent of the present study was to evaluate the effect of five different levels (0, 25, 50, 75 or 100 gm/ton) of probiotic (Protexin) supplemented in feed (Finisher) on blood profile of broiler chicken. Three hundred seventy five broilers (four weeks old) were randomly divided into 15 replicates having 25 birds in each replicate. These replicates were assigned to five dietary Treatments (0, 25, 50, 75 or 100 gm/ton protexin supplemented in feed) having three replicate in each treatment group. Each diet was offered to three pens of 25 broilers each. At the end of the experiment, blood samples were collected from 15 birds per treatment group. There was no mortality recorded at higher levels of probiotic in both strains. Results revealed that hematological values, serum urea, serum creatinine, serum triglycerides, serum high-density lipoprotein level, serum cholesterol level and serum low-density lipoprotein concentrations among all the groups were not affected (P>0.05) by treatments. However, blood hemoglobin concentration, serum glucose level and serum total protein concentration were increased significantly (P<0.05) in blood of birds feeding finisher ration supplemented with protexin. It was concluded that different levels of protexin in finisher ration of broiler may improve some of the blood parameters.
Ostrich farming is a new emergent in avian production throughout the globe from the last few years which can open new vistas for development for its delicious meat, feathers and the hide. Pakistan being independent in cheap labor and cheap feed can easily set up ostrich farms of high production potential in the country. Ostrich is gaining popularity in Pakistan and there are many farmers who are rearing ostrich at small scale in various parts of the country. Demand for meat (healthy meat), fat/oil, hide, eggs, feathers and other products is increasing day by day in Pakistan. However, ostrich producers are only meeting 10% of the customers demand. Therefore, it is high time to capture our share in the local and international market. Major clients for meat are Super Stores, Meat Markets, Restaurants and hotels.
A workflow is designed for the analysis of lipoproteins, high density lipoproteins (HDL), apoproteins, and lipid fraction, employing an organic polymeric anion exchanger through the enrichment of lipoproteins/peptides from serum. Polymeric separation media are chemically stable over the wide pH range. Poly(GMA/DVB), poly(GMA/EGDMA), and poly(GPE/DVB) are synthesized by radical polymerization, derivatized as strong anion exchangers, and used for lipoproteins enrichment. Lipoprotein's surface is covered by phospholipids, having phosphate groups, therefore lipoproteins are enriched by the interaction of anion exchanger with the phosphate groups and eluted at the pH of 7.5. HDL are further isolated by precipitating the very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL) and low-density lipoproteins (LDL) with phosphotungstic acid as precipitating reagent, followed by delipidation via liquid/liquid extraction. Apolipoproteins profiling is done by MALDI-MS, and lipids are analyzed using gold nanoparticles in the LDI-MS process. This study introduces a lipoproteomics work flow in separation science which analyses the intact lipoproteins. Furthermore, solid phase extraction (SPE)-based methodology is reported for the first time in lipoproteomics. Use of organic polymers, high reproducibility, detailed analysis of lipoproteins, apoproteins/peptides, and lipids from the single serum sample are the distinctive features of this workflow. Being biomarkers of numerous diseases, lipoproteins have clinical significance, and this workflow can be used at diagnostic and therapeutic levels.
Online teaching is a major concern in today's teaching process, and it is necessary to determine the impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on online teaching. Currently, online teaching plays a vital role in guiding educators; students must be updated about the use innovation in the right way. Teachers must teach students about the correct use of technology. The purpose of the research were to study the on line experience of faculty with ICT to overcome the challenges in teaching learning process. The research was quantitative in nature whereas survey methods and quantitative questionnaire were utilized in current research. The random sampling technique was used to target the sample. The target population were the teachers who had experienced online courses and sample size (n=100) teachers. Descriptive analysis were utilized by the researchers to analyze the collected data. The results of the research depicted that there is major role played in online teaching with Information and Communication Technology. Moreover online teaching, increase the use ICT for online courses, which relieved the teacher. The advantage of online teaching in this way is that students were not bound to place and time. COVID-19 stipulates that all instruction frameworks must be converted to online mode. It is recommended that appropriate training for teachers is mandatory, which will help them to implement ICT.
The prime purpose of this study is to analyze the capital structure impact on the performance of Islamic and non-Islamic financial institutes of Pakistan during the time of 2006-2013. To examine this impact, the researchers investigate empirically what are the outcomes of capital ratio on profitability indicator (EFCROE) of Shariah compliant financial firms as well as interest-based financial firms separately. The estimation technique generalized method of moments has been used for the proposed model. Both models verify the negative association of capital ratio with the efficiency of financial institutions. The lower equity with higher leverage becomes the cause of mitigating the agency cost of the firm and good performance as well. Hence, both models confirm the presence of agency cost theory in the financial sector of Pakistan. However, this effect in the Islamic financial sector is insignificant because of the small magnitude of the Islamic financial sector. The results suggest that managers should increase their debt financial instruments and lessen their equity financing to enhance their performance and the State Bank of Pakistan should take valid and sound steps to promote Islamic financial services in Pakistan
