Abstrak Mahasiswa mengalami masalah dalam pemanfaatan aplikasi Coreldraw sebagai media pembelajaran untuk merancang karya Desain Komunikasi Visual(DKV) secara digital. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) Mendeskripsikan tool-tool Coreldraw yang dimanfaatkan mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran DKV, 2) Mendeskripsikan jenis desain yang dihasilkan mahasiswa dengan aplikasi Coreldraw dalam pembelajaran DKV. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Sasaran penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa yang mengikuti perkuliahan DKV semester V, Tahun Akademik 2019/2020 sebanyak 20 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tool-tool Coreldraw yang dimanfaatkan mahasiswa pada pembelajaran DKV antara lain 1) Pick Tool, fungsinya untuk menyeleksi, mengubah ukuran, dan merotasi arah objek gambar; 2) Shape Edit, fungsinya untuk menyunting bentuk objek gambar; 3) Crop Tool, untuk menghilangkan bagian yang tidak terpakai dalam objek; 4) Zoom, fungsinya untuk memperbesar tampilan gambar pada jendela gambar; 5) Curve, fungsinya untuk menggambar kurva dalam bentuk garis tunggal; 6) Rectangle, fungsinya untuk membuat bidang segiempat; 7) Ellipse, untuk menggambar elips dan lingkaran; 7) Text Tool, fungsinya untuk membuat teks pada area gambar; 8) Outline Tool, fungsinya untuk membentuk ketebalan dan warna garis, dan beberapa tools lagi yang biasa digunakan dalam membuat gambar atau desain seperti Interactive Fill Tool, Basic Shape Tool, dan Table Tool. Jenis desain yang dihasilkan mahasiswa dengan aplikasi Coreldraw dalam pembelajaran DKV antara lain desain corporate identity, desain poster, dan stationary kit.Kata Kunci: Media Pembelajaran, Coreldraw, Desain Komunikasi Visual Abstract Students had experienced some problems in using Corel draw software as a learning medium for designing in Visual Communication Design (DKV) digital project. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. This research target the students who take Visual Communication Design (DKV) lectures in the fifth semester of Academic Year 2019/2020 as many as 20 people. The results of the study show that the Corel draw’s tools used by students in Visual Communication Design in their learning include: 1) Pick Tool, its function is to select, resize, and rotate the direction of the image object; 2) Shape Edit, its function is to edit the shape of the image object; 3) CropTool, to remove unused parts of the object; 4) Zoom, its function is to enlarge the image display in the image window; 5) Curve, its function is to draw a curve in the form of a single line; 6) Rectangle, its function is to create a rectangular field; 7) Ellipse, to draw ellipses and circles; 8) Text Tool, its function is to create text in the image area; 9) Outline Tool, its function is to form the thickness and color of the line, Some tools are commonly use in making images or designs, such as the Interactive Fill Tool, Basic Shape Tool, and Table Tool. Study related to characteristics of costumes worn in Children Creation Dance in kindergarten at Buleleng, Bali is aiming at (1) understanding the characteristics of children creation dance costume in kindergarten at Buleleng, Bali, (2) understanding the aesthetic characteristic of costume of children creation dance in kindergarten at Buleleng, Bali. The research employed qualitative method while the discussion part was presented in descriptive. Data was collected through observation, interview, literature, as well as documentation study. In a general view, characteristic of the costume was still in close proximity to the tradition but some others characteristics have quiet different to the tradition. Aesthetic aspect in dance costume that has adjacency to the tradition is shown in patterned costume, especially the use of kamen prada. The use of colour tends to be bright and cold which may show the atmosphere of happiness and assurance. On the other hand, the characteristics of costume is not traditional tends to emphasize dots and stripes. The impression of dots is shown in the use of sequin while the stripe impession is shown in fabric colour boundaries. In addition, the colours chosen for this type of costume are considerably similar to the colour chosen in traditional costume of creation dance which are bright and cold and give the impression of happiness and assurance.

Prasi is an illustration made on palm leafs from antiquity to the present day. This study aims to (1) describe the explanation regarding the stages of treatment of the material, namely palm leafs in the process of making palelintangan prasi, (2) describe the visual elements that make up palelintangan prasi, (3). Describing the form of presentation of the work of palelintangan prasi. The subject in this research is prasi while the object in this research is palelintangan. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection in this study used the techniques of (1) observation, (2) interviews, (3) discussions, (4) documentation, (5) literature. The results of this study show (1) The form of treatment of rontal leafs as raw materials for making prasi art works is carried out starting from the design design stage, preparing tools and materials such as rontal leafs that are ready to use, teak plywood, rontal leafs attached to the plywood using glue until at the stage of cutting the rontal leafs, sanding, and until the rontal leafs are ready to be incised, (2). Potential visual elements are manifested as meaningful iconography into prasi, (3) Palelintangan prasi is presented using mica glass instead of cute like the presentation of two-dimensional works in general such as drawings or paintings so that they are easily appreciated by art connoisseurs.   Keywords: Prasi, Palelintangan, Ront
