Abstract.The new approach to enhancing the selectivity of sorption separation of metal ions was suggested. The approach is based on using mixed sorbents, which may be obtained, e.g. by simultaneous immobilization of complexing reagents on silica gel and reverse-phase silica gel (C16, Ph). The methods are developed for the simultaneous determination of two (Co-Fe, Co-Zn, A1-Mn) or three (A1, Mn and Fe) elements in the concentration range 2.10 -6-7.10-4M with the performance of 21-36 samples per hour.Key words: mixed sorbents, continuous flow analysis, simultaneous determinations, reverse-phase silica gel.The combination of sorption separation with simple detection technique, e.g. photometric, requires selective sorbents. We are developing a novel approach allowing the preparation of the sorbents with an increased selectivity -the simultaneous immobilization of different complexing groups (reagents). Varying relative content of the groups under constant total capacity of the sorbent makes possible to change the retention of ions [1]. The authors of [2] have used HPLC sorbents dynamically coated with mixtures of crown-ethers; however, to get maximal effect it is desirable of "mix" functional groups with different donor sets. Related theory and application to thin-layer chromatography were considered in our previous paper [1]. To our knowledge, no applications of the sorbents with different complexing groups were reported for sorption concentration; all the published data are related to chromatographic methods.The goal of the work is the further development of the approach. We describe the methods of preparation of mixed sorbents, the properties of a number of such sorbents, and their application in continuous flow analysis (CFA).
Monocyte migration from the peripheral blood to the uterine decidual tissue is essential for the regulation of placental development. We evaluated the phenotypical changes in the peripheral blood monocytes in pregnant women. The peripheral blood counts of monocytes expressing CD11b, CD47, and integrin β7 were elevated in women with normal gestation in comparison with nonpregnant women; the intensity of CD62P, CD11b, CD11c, CD29, CD31, and CD54 expression was higher in pregnancy. The counts of monocytes expressing adhesion molecules were similar in normal pregnancy and gestosis. Gestosis was characterized by higher counts of monocytes expressing IFN-γ receptor (CD119) and more intense expression of this receptor. Changes in the monocyte phenotype can promote their adhesion to the uterine vascular endothelium and further migration of these cells to the decidual tissue.
We examined the structure of psychoemotional sphere of 153 pregnant patients in different terms of pregnancy and 48 non-pregnant women. Our data demonstrated that first-term pregnancy is accompanied by a significant emotional stress. In second-term pregnancy those changes are more positive, at third-term pregnancy the level of the patients feels is significantly increased and the psychoemotional sphere is stabilized. Thereby the specific features of nervous system are influence the status of the pregnant women. Evidently pregnant patients with the high level of anxiety, introversion, psychotic and nevrotic characteristics are in need of the increased attention of the obstetric-gynecologic specialists, anaesthesiologists and psychologists to make correction of the psychoemotional sphere when preventive preparation of birth and the choice of anesthesia delivery.
