This study aimed to determine phonological interference that occurs on BIPA learners from Europe in Bali. Oraland written data are used in this research that were obtained from learners' speeches and writings when learning Indonesian in the class. This research was guided by interference theory according to Weinreich (1953). Oral data were collected using proficient inversion techniques (SLC), skillful in-flight listening techniques (SBLC), recording techniques, and note taking. Writing data were collected by the test method. The data analyzed and presented in formal and informal forms. The results of data analysis showed that phonological interference that occurred in BIPA learners from Europe in Bali, namely in the form of vocal noise interference (occurred in vowels [a], [u], and [ə]), consonant sound interference (occurred in consonants [h] , [r], [g], [ŋ], [t], [g], and [ɲ]), interference in the form of sound addition (occurred in the sounds [ŋ] and [ɲ]), and interference in the form of sound removal ( occurred in consonants [r], vowel series [e] and [a], and consonants [h]). This interference occurred because of differences in vowel and consonant sounds in Indonesian and English. In addition, this interference was also caused by the different pronunciation of a vowel sound or consonant sound in both languages.

The research is aimed to find the expressive of illocutionary acts found in the comic and analyze the technique of translation implemented by the translator while translating comic ‘True Beauty’. The data used to support all the analysis for this study were taken from the Webtoon comic entitled ‘True Beauty’ with its translation into Indonesian ‘Secret of Angel’ of season 1. Even though the title in Indonesian is in English, but all conversation in the comic is in Indonesian. Documentation method was used in this study by reading the data source attentively and doing note-taking. This research was designed using qualitative method, and the result of analysis was descriptively explained. The theory supporting this study was proposed by Leech (1993) illocutionary speech act, theory of translation technique written by Molinda and Albir, and ethnography of SPEAKING proposed by Hymes (2009). The results of this study showed that there were 47 expressive illocutionary acts found in the comic. the expressive illocutionary act forms found were: thanking with 23 data, apologizing with 13 data, surprising with 5 data, dislike with 2 data, congratulating with 4 data. the translation technique employed by the translator were; literal translation (37), particularization (6), modulation (3), and discursive creation (1).

The title of this study is “Morphosyntactic Study on English Derivational Suffixes Forming Adjectives with Reference to the Twilight”. This study discusses the combination of morphology and syntax called morphosyntax. Morphology is the study about word formation; meanwhile syntax is the study about sentence structure. This study mainly aims at finding out the derivational suffixes forming adjectives and the syntactic functions of the adjective found in the novel Twilight. The data of this study were taken from a novel entitled Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. Library research method was applied in this study in collecting data. It was done by collecting the derivational suffixes forming adjectives, copying the data, and classifying the derivational adjectives found in the novel. The collected data in this study were analyzed using descriptive qualitative method. The main theory applied in this study is the theory of Morphology and Syntax proposed by Quirk, et al (1985). The result of the analysis shows that there were derivational suffixes that can change the word class from noun and verb into adjective. There are ten suffixes found, they are suffix -ful, -able, -ish, -ous, -al, -ic, -less, -y, -ive, -ly. Meanwhile, for the syntactic functions there are two types found, they are predicative and attributive.

This study is entitled Lexical Cohesion and Semantic Relation in the English texts.  The  aims  of  this  study  are  identifying  the  types  of  lexical  cohesion  and analyzing the semantic relation  found in the texts. The data were taken   from   five texts  with  different   genres.   It contains aspects of life and consists of twelve pages. This study was library research which applied the documentation method  to  collect  the  data.  The data of this study were analyzed using the qualitative method.  The theory applied in this study is cohesion in English that explains the types of cohesion into two; lexical cohesion and grammatical cohesion and analyzing the semantic relation found in the text. The result of the analysis shows a lot of lexical cohesions found in the data such as reiteration. Reiteration consists of repetition, synonym and superordinate. Collocation can be explained by means of; Antonym, the same ordered series, and certain lexical sets. Semantic relation between lexical items in the text that makes the text cohesive was also found in this study.

This study is entitled Politeness Maxims in Dialogue Toy Story 4 Movie. This study aimed to observe the types of politeness maxims and the functions of politeness maxims applied in the movie. The Toy Story 4 Movie uses a data source in this study because there had been conversations related to politeness expressions with all characters. This study uses the documentation method and note-taking technique in collecting the data. The data of this study were analyzed using the descriptive qualitative method and using the theory of pragmatics by Leech (1983). However, this study only focuses on four maxims as Generosity maxim, Approbation maxim, Agreement maxim, and Sympathy maxim to facilitate research. Based on the analysis, the results show that all four maxims can be found in this study. The most dominant maxim which was used in this study is Generosity maxim and Agreement maxim while the most functions applied in each politeness maxims is Irony.
