Abstract. During many years, Print Debugging has been the most used method for debugging. Nowadays, however, industrial languages come with a trace debugger that allows programmers to trace computations step by step using breakpoints and state viewers. Almost all modern programming environments include a trace debugger that allows us to inspect the state of a computation in any given point. Nevertheless, this debugging method has been criticized for being completely manual and time-consuming. Other debugging techniques have appeared to solve some of the problems of Trace Debugging, but they suffer from other problems such as scalability. In this work we present a new hybrid debugging technique. It is based on a combination of Trace Debugging, Algorithmic Debugging and Omniscient Debugging to produce a synergy that exploits the best properties and strong points of each technique. We describe the architecture of our hybrid debugger and our implementation that has been integrated into Eclipse as a plugin.
This paper presents a web-based platform that enables the customization and synchronization of subtitles on both single-and multi-screen scenarios. The platform enables the dynamic customization of the subtitles' format (font family, size, color...) and position according to the users' preferences and/or needs. Likewise, it allows configuring the number of subtitles lines to be presented, being able to restore the video playout position by clicking on a specific one. It also allows the simultaneous selection of various subtitle languages, and applying a delay offset to the presentation of subtitles. All these functionalities can also be available on (personal) companion devices, allowing the presentation of subtitles in a synchronized manner with the ones on the main screen and their individual customization. With all these functionalities, the platform enables personalized and immersive media consumption experiences, contributing to a better language learning, social integration and an improved Quality of Experience (QoE) in both domestic and multi-culture environments.
Environmental complexity in Guanajuato’s Bajio: implications of the civilizing project linked to economic growthAbstract: this article’s objective is to make the environmental contradictions of the logic of economic growth evident, which was adopted in Guanajuato’s Bajio, in the context of the ecological economy, which show the socio-environmental non-viability of public policies in Guanajuato. The municipal human development index, the state’s compilation of environmental reports, the workshops with key actors, as well as the feedback with academic peers, experts on environmental issues, reflect the environmental contrast of the development model which prevails and operate in a standardized way in this region. It is evident the deliberate disarticulation between economic and environmental policies, which is favorable to the first thanks to the second’s permissibility. This results in the transfer of the environmental costs from the private sector to the public one, and support for the logic of accumulation against the common interest. Pollution and overexploitation of water bodies, atmospheric pollution, extractivism, overgeneration of solid waste, the loss of soil quality are, among others, some elements that put a strain on the capacity for social and environmental resilience in this area. This visibilization of environmental crisis reflects the relevance of incorporating an analytical approach able to deal with a multidimensional crisis and understand that it stands on the illogical part of the logic of economic growth.Key words: environmental economy; environmental deterioration; economic development; human development; environmental policy; Guanajuato’s Bajio.
ABSTRACT:The investigation of human remains from a Classic period deposit at the archaeological site of Lagartero revealed incomplete anatomical segments of a male individual with anthropogenic perimortem and postmortem marks distributed in various areas of the bones. Based on the anthropological evidence in combination with the fact that the skeleton comes from one of the ball court altars, we assume that these are the remains of a sacrificed victim. The corpse also had been heavily processed postmortem, probably for ritual purposes or to be manufactured into bone artifacts.
This work presents results of a comparative study between penitentiary treatment for men and women in Mexico. Firstly, a documental review was made to estimate the differences in operation between men's and women's penitentiaries in Mexico; right away, we expose reactions of a focus group integrated by penitentiary personnel working in a women's correctional center. It was found that there exists a differentiated treatment between men and women in prison that does not seem naturally justified, nor juridically pertinent. Starting from the administration, a distinct treatment persists between male and female inmates. Even if men correctional facilities have been improving recently, omissions, anti-constitutional practices and misstatements are still often seen in women correctional centers. Besides this, a comparative discourse is maintained among correctional officers, being more negative for those who work in women's penitentiaries, and transmitting a generalized feeling of abandon due to the lack of government support; correctional officers also believe that the main expressions of government behavior to inmates are those that show power and authority and very little that of balanced exchanges.
