Indonesia still faces a challenge in achieving an appropriate complementary feeding (CF) practice for the child aged 6 to 24 months. However, this condition became more critical due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease-2019) outbreak. The social limitation policy, market disruption, and changes in income may change the state of family food security and altering child CF practices. Besides, infant age, mother education and occupation, information availability, and CF knowledge may also affect the practice. Therefore, we aimed to explore the CF practice and its related factors during the COVID-19 outbreak through an online cross-sectional study of the mothers of children aged 6 to 24 months in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. The results showed that a child’s age ( P = .019), household food security ( P = .006), and mother’s CF knowledge ( P = .002) had an association with CF practices. We concluded that a child’s age, household food security, and mother’s CF knowledge are the determinant factors for appropriate CF practices during the outbreak.
Background: The K-wave popularity led to increased Korean fans in Indonesia, including other sectors of Korean products. Further, the styles of the stars, look, and culture became Indonesian people's references in fashion, ideal body shape, and food consumption patterns. However, a concern was also raised about the halal status of Korean beauty products and Indonesian health behavior to meet the ideal body shape of Korean celebrities. This study aims to understand the general perspective of the K-beauty popularity effect on Indonesian people's health behavior and cosmetics purchasing intention, including its halal issues. Method: This study was conducted by reviewing relevant research articles between 2012 to 2022 on the topic through a google scholar search engine. In total, 14 articles that meet the inclusion criteria were reviewed. Results: This study found that some adolescents that worshiped Korean idols had a negative body image and did a strict diet, heavy exercise, took weight loss pills, or did plastic surgery to meet their body goals. Further, South Korean dramas significantly affect the brand image of Korean cosmetics and further increase its purchasing intention. People's knowledge of halal cosmetics, religion, and the halal label will affect their purchasing level and preference for halal cosmetics. Conclusions: This study concludes that the emerging K-beauty trend should be balanced with the knowledge about a healthy way to gain beauty and the understanding of halal cosmetics. The stakeholder should enhance the intervention to improve youngsters' knowledge and attitude toward halal cosmetics and a healthy diet.
Food delivery services are developing significantly, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Food aggregator application is one of the online systems which enables customers to order delivery food from several food providers. This application was made as a simple app to make it easy to use by customers. In addition, it also makes it easier for food producers to sell their products. However, it has its limitation in which the consumers do not know the safety and halal status of the products offered in this application. This research aimed to understand the consumers' perceptions of the food's safety and halal status in this food delivery system. This descriptive-qualitative research was held in January - February in DIY through in-depth interviews using an online meeting platform. The results showed that the consumers believe that the products sold in the aggregator application are safe and halal. The consumer's choice and trust depended on the restaurant's rating, products' photos, and their taste. In the product's safety context, the consumers justified the product quality from its packaging. As for the halal label of the product, the consumers believe that the product is halal if there is no information that these products contain non-halal ingredients
