In an organization, the availability of qualified staff is equivalent to the quality of the human resources and their outputs in the organization. This study aimed to analyze the professionalism of staffs in the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, UIN SUSKA Riau. This study is essential because all system and processes in the faculty have been done by the staffs to achieve the vision and missions of the university. The study used a mixed method to triangulate data, where the qualitative ones explained the quantitative data. There were 43 respondents participated in the study, comprised of 20 (46.50%) males and 23 (53.50%) females. The instruments were validated in a pilot project, where the instruments' reliability was assessed. The results show that the Cronbach's alpha value reached 0.924, which means the instruments were excellent to be used in the study. There was no significant difference between the staffs' professionalism based on their gender (p>0.01). We expected that the study results provide a suggestion for future staff recruitment in the faculty to be based on skills and proficiency, not on gender.
Pemanfatan terhadap teknologi internet untuk pembelajaran di Indonesia sudah dimulai pada tahun 1996. Kondisi tersebut, kemudian disikapi oleh Direktorat Jenderal Manajemen Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah (Ditjen Mandikdasmen) Departemen Pendidikan Nasional (Depdiknas) dengan menerapkan proses belajar mengajar berbasis teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) kepada siswa SMP. Bahkan pada tahun 2009 telah tersambung 18000 sambungan internet tercapai pada 27 Desember 2009. Akan tetapi, berdasarkan hasil penelitian Heru Suhartanto pada tahun 2009 pada sekolah-sekolah di Provinsi Riau, bahwa perkembangan Learning Management System (misalnya Moodle) dan situs tersebut mempunyai lebih dari sepuluh mata pelajaran yang dipraktekkan namun hanya ada satu sekolah yang memanfaatkan perkembangan tersebut.
Penelitian ini berawal dari masalah rendahnya pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan UIN Suska Riau. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperiment pada mahasiswa semester VI program studi pendidikan matematika Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan UIN Suska Riau tahun akademik 2015/2016. Data penelitian diperoleh menggunakan instrumen berupa tes pemahaman konsep dan pemecahan masalah. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji Mann Whitney U untuk hipotesis 1, 4 dan 5, uji t’ untuk hipotesis 2, uji t untuk hipotesis 3 dan 6, dan metode grafik untuk hipotesis 7 dan 8. Berdasarkan temuan dan pembahasan, dapat disimpulkan (1) pemahaman konsep dan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran SSCS lebih tinggi dari mahasiswa yang belajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional. (2) pemahaman konsep dan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa berpengetahuan awal tinggi yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran SSCS lebih tinggi dari mahasiswa berpengetahuan awal tinggi yang belajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional. (3) pemahaman konsep dan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa berpengetahuan awal rendah yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran SSCS lebih tinggi dari mahasiswa berpengetahuan awal rendah yang belajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional. (4) tidak terdapat interaksi antara pengetahuan awal dan model pembelajaran SSCS terhadap pemahaman konsep mahasiswa dan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa.
Education that does not depart from human nature will fail to produce a generation that has the best specific role in civilization. To overcome the problem of the personality of the nation's children, strengthening character education is the entry point for making overall improvements to education. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nature-based learning on strengthening student character. This study uses a quantitative approach which will examine the effect of "Fitrah Based Learning" in learning and its effect on strengthening student character. This research was conducted in January-February 2023 at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. The sampling technique used random sampling technique with a total sample of 333 respondents. The data used is primary data by distributing questionnaires. The data analysis used is simple linear regression with SPSS. The results of the study show that the majority of fitrah based learning variables are very good as much as 74% and the majority student character variables are as much as 77%. The results of the Linear Regression test showed that the t observation was 9.343 and the p-value (sig.) was 0.000. Because the p-value = 0.00 is smaller than the value α = 0.05, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an influence of Fitrah Based Learning on strengthening student character
